DVD regional coding...need help

starbucks & i were talking a while back about re-burning a DVD to region1 that was originally region 2.

someone on here said they could do it…but i forget who.

starbucks tried it lastnight but couldn’t get it to work.

If anybody has the ability to do this let me know.

I have a UK version of Ministry of Sounds Pump it Up DVD
http://shop.ministryofsound.com/Cultures/en-GB/Products/MOSDVD002.htm?CatalogNavigationBreadCrumbs=MinistryofSound|Music|DVDs
its the workout video they made after the popularity of the call on me video.
the DVD also has some music video extras (benny banassi - satisfaction :bigthumb:) and a few others along with other DVD stuff…the making, behind the scenes etc…

let me know if anyone can copy this to region1 so i can play it in a regular DVD player.

i just need 2 copies…one for me & one for starbucks.

me

well starbucks has the DVD, so let me know how you want me to get it to you…meet up, mail, etc.

Where does Starbucks live? or you? maybe we could meet somewhere or if its just easier you could mail it.

we both live east of the city…near monroeville.

hey mods…this thread can be deleted if you want.

siblaze hooks it up yet again :bigok:

the region coding isnt the problem.
i have dvdshrink
dvd xcopy gold
and nero6

the problem is cycling-shrink get to 68% burn and and encounters an error.
btw its a copy dvd from overseas but shrink gets right around that issue.

maybe blazed can shed some light??

I’ve had issues with Nero and video files before. It doesn’t seem to handle video well. I’ve done all sorts of Kung Fu movies from over seas for one buddy of mine. I’ve seen the mysterious freeze before too. I have another program that is similar to DVD shrink but I can’t think of the name of it. It won’t shrink dvd’s so i still use dvd shrink but for ripping and burning this other program is my personal favorite. If I remember I will get the name of it when I am at home for lunch.

I got this disc off of starbucks today… I dunno WTF he was tryin to do but I copied it first try with no hassles. I ripped the disc with DVD Decrypter 3.2.1.0 and burned it with DVD Shrink 3.7.1.6. No problems, no regional code now…

I dunno what your issues with this disc were all about, John… it copied flawless for me. Maybe it’s an issue with your DVD drive??? :dunno:

Lately I been using DVDFAB, I like it better than X Copy. Anyone else try it?

very few things i cant burn…i use decrypter 3.2 …its probably i dont how to use it to its full potential???

thanks guys for all your help…just let me know when & where & i’ll pick it up.

If you need any DJ mixes just let me know…i got like every essential mix back to 94

Starbucks…i got DJ shadow’s essential mix for you…we’ll meet up this week & i’ll get it to you.

How many copies do you need?

One thing I am still trying to confirm after BS’n with a fellow tech-nerd… this disc may be in PAL. Alot of DVD players can play either depending on region code. It worked fine on my xbox and my Sony set top so I doubt this is the case. But originating from the UK it is a strong possibility. I haven’t had time to find a way to tell on a burned disc. Typically NTSC or PAL is stamped on the inner ring of a DVD. I’ll verify it works on a few other machines just to be sure.

Starbucks also gave me your Fugees disc and the Thurston Howl disc. I dig the Thurston Howl disc.

I only need one copy…

I got 3 DVD players (PS2, LG upscaling, & regular older sony DVD)

so it should work in one of them.

Thanks again…& make copies for yourself of whatever you want.

i need one dvd copy too please.
thirston howl 3rd is underground dopeness.im getting his other two cds real soon if you guys want a copy.
i dont think showtime has ever heard it before…
