I know there was brief mentioning of this over the weekend, so I figured I’d share some photos. Picked up a new daily driver, a 1992 BMW 525i Touring. (wagon ;)). Since it’s a '92 it has the M50B25 engine (2.5L I6 24v). The nice thing about the '92 non Vanos engine is it has the best valvetrain out of any S50/M50 varient, it’s good to 8k (great dual valve spring arrangement) and the bottom end will support it since BMW went overkill and put some of their strongest rods and pistons in it. The engine is good to 500+ hp on just an MLS gasket and head studs. Anyway, here are some pics:
I got a crackhead deal on the car, ($1000) and have a ton of parts sitting here or on order for it, including:
e39 M5 Wheels
Vogtland Springs
Bilstein HD Shocks
e34 M5 Rear subframe
Limited Slip differential
New Upper Control Arms
New Lower Control Arms
New Tie rods
New sway bar drop links
New power steering pump
Euro Smiley headlights
6000k HID’s
New rotors
Hawk Pads
Stainless brake lines
I’m planning on doing a 5 speed trans swap in the next couple weeks too, but I’m still sourcing parts. I’m also going to shadowline the chrome trim and get some light tint. The car needs a ton of work, but for the price with a strong engine in a touring you cant beat it. (Usually go for $4-8k).
Trailer your po’rsche to the race track, race with this, beat people.
Then hop into porsche and beat people again.

I’m more concerned with the basic mechanicals and the interior right now (it’s rough) but I’d be lieing if I said there werent plans. Brent, I’m thinking about an e46 wheel actually.
I saw this on the trailer at St. Ben’s and on eggert. Ill take them springs off your hands too

its a parts getter, will it tow?

A small trailer, sure, towing capacity isnt much, but it’s enough where I could haul some stuff if I wanted. But I’ll never use the e34 for towing, that’s why I have a jeep (which is soon to be upgraded to a truck).
Oh yeah, and I’m doing major interior refinishing work (but that’s not a huge priority) swapping some black interior parts over from my old sedan, and looking for some e36 m3 and e34 M5 parts. If anyone happens upon a set of ultra rare Modena Vader’s please, let me know.
I’m planning on ripping off the Modena/Black M3 interior if all goes well.
