iDrive is just the wheel as far as I know. You still would use it for your communication/entertainment/climate if you were to not have NAV.
Love my E60 tho - in the right years, with the right options, and the right motor - they are awesome cars.

Well I got one. '04 530i, manual trans, 167k miles, lots of service records from 06-current. as of now the guy still hasn’t taken the ad down http://losangeles.craigslist.org/wst/cto/5235011128.html
the california sun has not been nice to it, the headlights are super faded and all the front and rear rubber window trim is junk. The guy only drove it 6k miles in the year he had it and of course he never cleaned the engine bay so it’s gross.
Not going to do anything besides wash and maintenance because I want a 535 next year, lol
