Hey i am wondering if someone on here knows if my ecu will be shout?

senerio: i was welding the rockers on my 92 240sx on the drivers rear all day when i realized that i left the battery hooked.

I have heard that if you leave the battery attached when welding on the car, you will blow the ecu. is this true? I know a good way to test it is turn the car on but theirs no tranny in the car so it wont start. I would like to know if its a good chance to be gone or if theirs a way to check without starting the car before i sell my spare ECU.

i welded my frame on my 92 hatch with the bat connected no problems ever.

jack, i welded up my ds rockers all day once, and patched the rails…both separate times without disconnecting and ecu’s fine. i guess there’d still be a chance but i think you’ll be ok.
