Engine block question

I looked up the casting number on my 350 block. this is what I got.

10243880…350…95-00…2 or 4…Vortec truck, Gen.I crate motors and “ZZ4”, roller cam, one piece rear seal

So here is my question...does that mean that the Gen.1 crate, Voretec truck, and ZZ4 all used the same block? or it could be one of those? From what I gather so far its a 285 hp 350...but I can't really find much on it.

almost 95% positive they are interchangeable, as also LS Series and LT Series GM blocks.

They all used the same block.

Ahh gotchya. Yeah I thought it was the same block but different heads and shit that set them appart. Hm…so I’m thinkin I got a good deal getting this short block for $75? lol

yeah you got a good deal.
Buy my parts haha.

Casting number won’t tell you shit compared to the pad stamp below the alternator.

Would that be the stamp that says GM 5.7LG?

No it will be like V10935(or something similiar). The engine ID pad is on the block in front of where the right side head bolts In front of cylinder #2 (sitting in the car). If you were to look at the front of the engine from above you will see one head (left side) sits more foward than the other(because of V). The stamping is in front of the head that sits back a little. This number will tell you what car this was out of. The casting number and casting date(back side of block) wont tell you what it was in.
