I am diesel
Then I love you
:hug
I am an OG dieseler
JP8 > Diesel
Used that in the humvees, tanks etc. when I was in Iraq…yeaaaa buddy.
You’re paying less but you’re also getting less mpg. It’s the same , or even more expensive, as normal gas in the end. E85 produces 25-30% less energy than 87 octane.
yeah, anybody that uses ethanol in their everyday car or their “flex fuel” jumpoff is a moron. I hate this shit with a passion. only good use for it is as an alternative performance fuel…thats it
The amount you use will more than surpass ANY price difference at the pump.
MPG is the LARGEST factor in the amount you guys are spending on fuel.
It is a horrible idea for the main stream, but when compared with race gas it’s still the best thing since fake tits.
E85 is not for everyone. I think that current vehicle switching to ethanol and new vehicles running new blends of bio diesel will be a greater benefit.
I’m not gonna argue the economy aspect as it does take more energy to make as well as energy to transport cause the pipelines in place currently are not capable of moving ethanol. The infrastructure is crap.
As far as price vs MPG its close to 93. I would not substitute E85 for 87. at $3.19 a gallon I payed for E85 and got 220 miles to a tank I still made out better than 93 @ $4.28 and 260 miles to a tank. There are other properties to consider besides the 27% less energy per pound of fuel. The actual difference in economy can be anywhere between 40% to 10% depending on so many factors I wouldn’t know where to begin.
The flex fuel cars are terrible. Like I said previously as others about substituting E85 for 87. An engine optimized for 87 octane will not make efficient use of 100+ octane fuel. My car at 10.1:1 doesn’t make use of 100 octane. I should be at close to 11:1. Ethanol does not allow for huge jumps in timing due to faster flame speed than gasoline but it will allow more compression and/or boost.
actually no not really.
EVERYTIME i take the evo out, pump gas or e85… i burn 20$ worth of fuel. every single time… 14mpg on e85 city, 19 on 93 octane… very marginal difference, its more cost effective for me to run on e85.
I noticed the ability to run the timing up pretty good when switching to ethanol.
thats the whole point of e85 TIMING TIMINGTIMING
My tuner was pretty shocked with how much he safely added to it in winter blend.
I didnt know you were running corn juice death
i got death hooked on the e85
Psh, was tuning for it before i knew ya.
get real
I was running it before it hit $1.60/gal. as a daily driving fuel. It worked fuckin’ perfect, it all works out fine if you have your shit tuned correctly. I have similar results to what Joe claims, but I can also go faster. LOLZ
I use to drink it when it was $1.00 a gallon.
I like E-85 and I’m going to tune my Evo to use it HOWEVER fuel should never be made from a food source.
