Impressive.

Thats cool and all but aren’t most of the cars in the class family sedans minus the rx8’s and miatas

Ya, RX8’s also compete in the Koni Challenge as do BMW Z4’s and of course MX-5’s. I guess you can homologate anything if you wanted to.

The ST class is a very restrictive class that imposes restrictions on the cars that limit them to near factory stock power levels and probhibit tire sizes and limits modifications. The GS class is ALOT less restrictive and allows many many more modifications.

individual vehicle restrictions are displayed in a chart in the last few pages.

The impressive thing about this is that both the cars are running near 100 percent stock engines intake thru exhaust. The Grand AM cup prohibited any screwing with the boost and didnt even allow an exhaust or intake change for the spec B’s. The GAC also put weight restrictions on the car and imposed a minimum weight of 3100 lbs which is not too far off from the showroom weight of the car. The car still held off cars weighing in at as little as 2000 lbs for all 132 laps.

RX8’s also compete in the Koni Challenge.

I know what I meant was that every car in the field minus the rx8 and the one or two mx5 are family sedans.

would have been more impressive had a ford taurus won it.

we all can’t forget the one car that is left out of this whole conversation SRT-4
