I thought the FBI had been doing this for years.
Scary because its just ordinary people, criminals use prepaid phones.
For everyone who thinks this is no big deal, lots of providers lock your UDID to logins. Spoofing this can take over a persons Facebook, Twitter, Game Center, and a bunch of other application accounts on top of the other flaws with the UDID.
word on the street is that it’s fake
the entries i pasted above also seem suspicious
I don’t see how the names seem suspicious
People name their computers/laptops/iPads all kinds of weird shit
My personal computer was AIDS for a while…anything is possible.
We’ll see how it shakes out. Has anyone heard of a confirmation that their data is in the list?
They don’t think the data is fake, they just think it may not have come from the FBI computer and it came from other exploits to reveal the info using services. I guess the FBI isn’t aware that any computers were compromised is what sparked it.
FBI did a press release that said there was no signs of the laptop being compromised and that the FBI never had such information to begin with. If they never release the full list there is going to be real no way to validate whether the information was real or fake.
Both sides have agendas and could be lying about this, which is why it is a decent conspiracy target.
The original filename has NCFTA in it, implying that the file or data originated there, which doesn’t make a whole lot of sense.
An article that I read today indicated that at least some entries in the disclosure is valid, so it’s starting to sound more like it’s real.
Apple denied anything involved with it.
