Here are some pics from our cruise yesterday and when we got to CSCS…
Head mechanic Dom giving the Corolla a once over and prepping some of the settings.
FD and 2 GTR’s day before the event awaiting to be cleaned.
The Silvia just after being prepped with fresh fluids. It was waiting for Mike to take it out on the streets of Vaughan to check that the engine was running smoothly and to see if the new rubber wouldnt rub the fender or wiring harness.
Coming out of the shop and getting on to the streets.
We met up at RightDrive (all 10 of us) at 8am the next morning. The weather was pretty bad in the GTA but we pushed on and began the 1.5 hour crusie anyways. Here are some pics from the drive. The photo’s came from on board the Corolla Levin. Our White Bathurst FD was missing in action since it had to make a detour.
Stopping for some precious 94 octane.
Crossing the narrow bumpy bridge in Haldimand county…
Arriving in Cayuga…Juergen led the way from RightDrive to the track. Not only did he (and the Corolla) drive 1.5 hours each way to the track, he competed hard n Time Attack without flaw!
Finally inside the park where the cars took a rest.
Back at the paddock where the others looked pretty.
Last minute decision to bring this guy out and see just how well it performs…To the surprise of many, this car was extremely competitive. When our head mechanic Dom was behind the wheel (he has a lot of experience with FWD race cars) he passed 6 people and made ground on the 7th car (which slowed him down from passing more) in a matter of 4 laps. We are excited to do some tracking with better competition in this car if it is still with us in August.
Bringing it over for inspection
Michael at the wheel with Emiko (our secretary) riding shotgun.
After 3-4 laps, Mike handed over the driving to Dom.
All in all, very fun day. Turn out was decent for the conditions.
More pics will be on our site this week.
