rookie…i really think the camo concept of the fighters is not to be viewed from the side like he is talking about…i think it is to camoflauge when viewed parked on the ground from the air and when viewed from the ground overhear…otherwise the huge red swastikas on the Meshershmits and giant red dots on the Zeros really throw everything off. Kinda like the blaze orange camo print gear i see for sale in hunting stores…i guess that only works if the enemy or prey is colorblind
my firebird is kinda a camo…ever see a MD state trooper car? well that is sorta what verduro green is like
I don;t know why this is a spearte subject but you are correct. Most planes of WWII had white or light colored under bellies to make them hard to spot in the air and some type of dark pattern on top to hide while on the ground.
Its still used today in some aircraft…
DONT FORGET THE WHITE STRIPES, OR VARYING STRIPES ON TOP OF THE PLANE SO ALLIED PLANES DIDN’T BOMB THEIR OWN PLANES SITTING ON THE GROUND…
