Agreed. In a wierd little way MOST of the people that may get upset with Chinese made parts should really point a finger at themselves…for they may be a part of the population who has ‘forced’ US companies to look elsewhere for cheaper manufacturing???

and therein lies the rub

Surprised no one mentioned it here yet.

Another 9.5 million toys recalled.

I wonder how much money they have saved now by going to China now.

You’d be suprised how much cheaper it is to use China…this really isn’t that big of a hurt on the company as you may think. We have reserves ($$$) in anticipation of matters such as these.

Remember, if the US buyers were willing to pay more money for their products, then FP (as well as many other companies) wouldn’t be forced to find cheaper labor.

.17/hour FTW.
And the fact that they have ZERO other costs that I have in the USA such as; EPA, DEC, OSHA, insurance, lawsuits, 410K, health insurance just name a few.

Oh yeah, and I don’t get government subsidies that are against WTO regulations.

It costs 35 cents to make a Barbie doll in China according to CBS News.
As you can see Mattel has to make toys in China if they want a 5714% mark up.
