anyone know where i can safely dispose of a bunch of flourecent bulbs I have??
The stupid place I work advised me to just toss them in the dumpster but I cannot bring myself to do that.

with the push to all the compact flourescents… it is necissiary to try to keep the mercury from escaping.

This company makes boxes that you can place them in, or they will bring out a truck if you have a ton of them. The cost of the box includes shipping and recycling.
NYS is currently working on a recycling program for CFls and regular fluorescent bulbs. It is very very new and not many drop off points are available yet.
Currently the best thing to do if you want to dispose of them properly is to contact your counties house hold hazardous waste program and they will tell you what drop off points are in your county.
on a side note, Waste management states that any resident can throw out upto 10 bulbs a month in your regular trash bin.

If the ends are green it is safe to smash.If they are silver, they will need to be disposed of properly.I still smash them.

im telling you, find someone you dont like…and have a sword fight with them…make sure you smash them in or around their eyes/mouth…it’ll burn like shit for a few minutes, they may even go blind/lose their sense of smell…so def make that someone you REALLY HATE
