Anyone know where to get rid of this? Aside from pouring it into the ground…
advanced auto or napa takes oil but i am unsure if they take coolant. they should
in my town we have a dump we can bring it to. they dispose of it properly.
in some states you can pour it down the drain but not in a septic system. i dont sdvise this tho. we are in ny
the local recycling center should take it too.
theres a mercury refining place in albany too. i bet they would take it. theres a bunch of hazardious metals in coolant

city of schenectady says down the drain, as long as its less than 5 gallons.
i think youre in rotterdam though, not sure if youre on septic
are you fucking serious :rofl :rofl :rofl
I’ve been wondering the same thing. Need info for Colonie though…
That’s what I do, pour it in the toilet and flush 'er down. The water treatment plants have no issue cleaning it out of the water in the quantities that the normal consumer would use.
I used to just put it in a jug and throw it in the garbage can. With automated pickup nobody knows wtf is in the can, could be bodies but they dont know where it came from.
And actually Ive seen notices on abandoned houses that say they put antifreeze in the sinks and toilets to prevent the pipes from freezing.
The neighborhood cats like it.
That might be RV Antifreeze though…
The dumps does a hazardous waste drop off day a couple of times a year. You have to register and show proof of residency.
:rofl
i’m in guilderland, not rotterdam
I also use the rapp road dump for all the toxic stuff and all electronics.
fuck driving to the dump for electronics. I just tossed a printer with two ink cartridges in the can over the weekend and it got picked up yesterday.
Any respectable shop has safety clean or alike pick up their used coolant. If there is one that you normally go to for state inspections I would try asking if they will take it. Even the Jiffy lubes and alike have antifreeze waste tanks.
Jiffy Lube. If they don’t take it tell 'em you’re gonna go on Yelp and give them a bad review.
Nothin’ 5-gallons of gas and a few matches can’t solve.
down the toilet and flush
used to winterize my business during the winter with rv antifreeze…
cool story sbardy.
They have a hazardous waste day usually in the summer at the highway dept (across from the town dump) I think you need to go to town hall and get a permit once its announced. Used it last year to get rid of used oil.
