Where to dispose of antifreeze?

I drop my used oil off at oil change places, but have no idea as to how to properly dispose of antifreeze.

I’ve got a couple gallons of it sitting in my garage and it’s time to get it cleared out.

Is there anywhere around Buffalo I can drop it off?

I called the hotline number because Erie County is a bit technologically challenced.

this is neat and free for batteries:

basement sink.

ok, i kid.lol

I usually put it in bowls on the side of the garage … so it evaporates.

i went to this once with some old pait cans etc… the line was like 2.5 hrs long to drop stuff off

i’m down in arcade, but we’ll take whatever, we’re required to take oil (which we don’t mind) and we’ll take coolant b/c it’s not a big deal. Safety Kleen dumps it in the sewer and pays the fine to let the water authority deal with it. :picard: raytech will pay for used coolant if it’s good enough for a certain freeze point, but if it was good enough not to freeze, why would we take it out? other than a repair requiring draining it, so it goes in the same Safety Kleen truck with the used oil, that they’ll refuse to pay for used oil if coolant is mixed in before they pump it…

I stopped at three different valvolines to dispose of old oil today.

First shop said they don’t take coolant at all.

Second shop said they mix it in with oil if there’s not too much of it, but that they weren’t interested in a five gallon bucket of it.

Third shop said “bring it in, we just dump it in with the oil”.

So I went back, got the bucket, and zoomed back to the third shop. Garage is getting pretty tidy.

lol dick…

Hey, can you give yourself an infraction for undermining the Auto section with a joke about killing animals?

^^^^^^^^^pussy!

well, a dead one at least.

No, but I can give you one for making a thread in gen auto not really having anything to do autos.

Damn I didn’t even notice this was in autos earlier, I’m slippin’ in my old age. Most definitely should not have been there. Close to there but not really.

I just dump it all over the ground. Water ftw. Who drives cars in winter anyways?

drink it?

become friends with shop owners and bring it to them.

I brought mine to Sears… they took it no problem.

Technically just for W. Seneca residents, however anyone can drive up to the town garage/highway dept. and recycle used motor oil, filters and coolant anytime day or night

I let my dog drink the antifreeze. She fuckin loves the stuff!

Oil and filters go to the red fire gods.

Some idiot is going to read that and feed it to his dog, condemning it to die in a rather uncomfortable manner.

For the benefit of all the dogs out there that have had the bad luck of being adopted by idiots:
Antifreeze is poison.

i pour it on my neighbors trees, lol.
