I’ve been fostering kittens for SPCA the last several weeks. They’ve got room in cages now and these are big enough to be adopted, so the last of this batch is headed back there on Tuesday.
This was a great lot of kittens (best out of the 8 litters we’ve done over the years) and I’d love to know they’re going to good homes. If anyone has a kitten-shaped hole in their households… Sponge is the last one left and the runt of the litter. Sweet as can be, timid, cuddly, and playful. Gets along wonderfully with our other cats.
Sponge is the runt of the litter. Sweet as can be, timid, cuddly, and playful. She’s also beautiful.
Shoot me a PM if you’re interested in adopting her; you can meet us there Tuesday to adopt her on the spot or we can ask them to hold her for you for (iirc) up to 24 hours. They charge an adoption fee, but it includes their shots and spaying.
n20junkie- Sorry it took a while to get back to you; was out of town for work. Pm’d you, give me a call if you want to swing be to meet her. I have tomorrow off from work, welcome to stop by before 2:30 if that would suit you.
SPCA adoption fee is $100 through the end of July. Includes spaying, id chip, and first year’s vaccinations. And a voucher for free first visit to participating vet, too.
Sponge is sweet and cuddly and fun and playful but delicate; I can imagine her having a very sad life if she doesn’t end up with a nurturing home. I’m going to adopt her myself if she doesn’t have another good home lined up.
Who wouldn’t want these adorable, fuzzy damned feet trotting around their house??? You folks should be lined up around the block for this one.

Oh yeah, she looks like a luck dragon from the Neverending Story.
Just got back from the SPCA- they sent Sponge back with me. She still occasionally emits liquid poop so they sent her home with me again; they won’t spay her until that’s all sorted out. For some reason they also sent home Maus, the other remaining kitten who I’ve been planning on keeping.
I’m to give Sponge some probiotic each day to clear up her liquipoo troubles so there’s still more time to stop by here and meet her ahead of committing to adopt her at the SPCA. If you’re at all considering it, shoot me a PM and we can work out a time for you to see her here- she’s an astonishingly awesome little critter, you won’t be disappointed.
Ok, so I’ve got these two foster kittens and they’ve been here for, iirc, 7 weeks. It was supposed to be just two weeks…
So the other one is Maus; was planning on keeping her myself but there’s two here that need good homes and I can happily keep either one (we’re already well-stocked on cats here; keeping one would be OK but two would be getting absurd).
So if this thread has you considering getting a kitten but maybe Sponge seems like she might be a bit too beedy… How about Maus? She’s beautiful, clean, playful, and self-sufficient. She absolutely revels in being a cat; graceful and inquisitive and energetic.
She’s doing great- she’s now a cuddly, tail-chasing, jumping and tumbling string-hunting darling. Has the run of the house now for several hours per day, it’s hysterical seeing her go up and down the stairs.

She’s got a vet appt on Tuesday, following up to make sure she’s 100% before spaying her. After spaying she’d be up for adoption. Or she may come back here forever… She’s sort of become my shadow.
Dropped off my personal favorite (Maus) to be spayed and put up for adoption. Maus was a natural fit here but her vigor, I think, means that she’s likely to be able to do well under pretty much any reasonable conditions. Sponge, not so much.
Sponge needs to be in a home where someone wants a little golden buddy and accepts that the trade is she’s a bit needier than most cats (thrives on attention, fussy about food). Life in an indifferent house would suck for her.
If anyone is serious about adopting Sponge, let me know- I’ll let you know when she’s ready to go back (likely in the next week) and I’ll go back to snag Maus for myself.
