His english makes my brain hurt, so who can guess on the workmanship, but the swap/build concept is awesome.

5.9 Limited blown with a 5spd NV4500 tranny.

wow… too bad that setup is in a zj :stuck_out_tongue:

Thats freaking awesome! Always liked those Limited too.

Bet that thing runs.

Any ghetto booty fab? :dunno:

Is it a cool thing to do? Yes, since the big v8 and stick didn’t come in the ZJ IIRC.

The big V8’s did come in the ZJ’s, just the later 5.9 Limiteds. The stick however… well it did come in a very select rare few of early (93-94?) ZJ’s, but it was the AX-15, not the 4500 he put in. (I don’t know what IIRC means.) There weren’t any manuals from the factory after that.

I didn’t see anything too bad on the mods/fabs.

You do RC…heh.

The 5spd was an option but never behind that motor, and when you could get it, like Zach said the tranny was certainly not as beefy as the NV4500.

You thinking of buying it Justin?

IIRC = If I Recall Correctly

The bigger motors in most light-duty rigs are usually teamed up with automatics, but I wasn’t 100% sure if the 5.9 and stick were teamed up. I looked at the newer models of ZJ to see option lists and it didn’t report that as an available combo, but I didn’t check the older ones. Thanks for the clarification.

And, nope, beat90tsi…I don’t need a modified Jeep at this point in my life (I have the Rubi and it holds its own off road considering it’s a 100% stock vehicle). I’m running out of room to park things as it is.

NV4500’s are cool, but the NV3500-3550 is a better choice for street use. The NV4500 is tooo much of a truck trans for having fun. I’ve done a few clutch dumps on the 5.9L 5 speed swap that Jay did for me and its held up just fine.

I have the NV3550 in my XJ, it’s what came stock, and it’s been going strong so far. I don’t do that many clutch dumps, but that’s mostly because my t-case has teh weak.
