FS - 1992 Caprice Wagon $700 or BO.

OK so my winter beater/part time daily driver is up for sale

The wagon for sale is a 92 caprice NO WOOD… it has it’s quirks, but I’ve been driving it almost daily since October…
the odometer says it has 100,032 miles, but the speedometer is off by about 30%… I am sure it is an easy fix, I just have not bothered, since the math is easy enough… (55MPH reads around 80 MPH)

Because the speedometer is off, I believe the car has less than 99K miles… all I can think of is that the trans has been replaced with one out of a truck with steeper gears, like 4.10s etc… again I just haven’t bothered with it since it’s just a winter beater…

It has new rear brakes, drums etc… and brake lines, Also has new battery and recent alternator…

It is an LO5 (TBI 350) car, It has started on days when the temp was well below zero.

It has a slight exhaust leak, where the mid pipe clamps to the cat, (LO5’s had single exhaust) I replaced the clamp, but it still leaks… not badly but I wanted to mention it…

both right hand windows are off track… working on getting new rollers for it, and my buick…

the last thing that might scare people away, is that it has a SLIGHT intake manifold coolant leak, again I’ve been driving it since october, and have never had to top up the coolant, it does not burn any coolant or oil, it runs like a champ, hence I have kept my eye on it and never had a problem…

SO as it sits, I’de like to get $800 for it or B/O. I can get $250 for scrap and $500 for a demo derby car but it is a good road worthy car that just needs some TLC or just needs to be driven as it…
It has a redish interior, cloth seats, power windows, locks, CC, etc basically all the goodies, except leather…

The foot wells are SOLID, rusty, but no holes… BUT both front fenders have rust through them, the car has been touched up long before I bought it, a few of the body panels are different shades, but again… it’s just a beater… it drives well, is very comfortable, and is totally reliable…

The only reason I am selling it is I need cash for bills.

nobodys paying 500$ for a mid size wagon for a demolition derby.

Also where are you getting 250 for scrap when scrap is still like 50 a ton?

are you saying this car weighs 10,000lbs?

other then that its not a bad deal.

I’m just reposting this from about a year ago. Scrap was definitely going for $100/ton back then. Derby cars were impossible to find locally (finger lakes) for under $400.

Like I said shoot me an offer, I’m more than willing to deal.

so its turn key?

Yup. Runs, drives, will pass inspection easily, and has never let me down driving it.

Bump, open for offers also.

BUMP $700!

next time you do post something with pictures make them a little smaller other than that good luck with the sale

good deal… and I love wagons. would make a great parts hauler/winter vehicle…
