For sale is my DD, a 1994 VW Golf. It has the 2.0L 4 cylinder. Gets decent gas mileage (31 MPG highway/ 25 city)
I have had the car for less than a year. In that year I have replaced:
New brake rotors/pads (front and back) < Not even 500 miles on them >
New clutch/pressure plate (Sachs)
New polyurethane bushings for the control arms
New downpipe (wrapped with header wrap)
Neuspeed lowering springs with KYB struts/shocks
Air filter
Car also has a power moonroof and factory alarm (saves $ on insurance)
Just recharged the AC in October (blows cold air) and had a wheel alignment done.
I did an engine swap over the summer. Engine I swapped in had < 100k on it (stock 2.0L 8V). Also swapped in a newer transmission. Thats when I replaced the clutch and pressure plate and the poly bushings. I needed the car to be daily reliable during the winter when I need to get to school / work. I also wrapped the engine wiring harness with new tape and cleaned all of the grounds. I wrapped the downpipe with header wrap and used heat shielding near the ac lines to keep the cars ac cool when sitting at a stop light.
I swapped in a silver faced gauge cluster from the Jetta GT. I also put in the stock factory fogs with factory wiring harness and dash switch. The car also has a black GTi hood on it. I do have a Jetta light blue hood that matches the car. I was planning on doing a Jetta front end swap.
Will come with 2 sets of wheels:
Summer : 15" Falken Azenis (205/50/15) on a set of rare Canadian B3 Passat wheels. These would look pretty good polished (what I was planning on doing this winter)
Winter : stock 14" steelies with Cooper snow tires (195/65/14).
Both sets handle extemely well during their seasons.
Doesn’t leak any fluids and starts/drives/runs perfectly.
