This is the same car Specv was selling. I bought it, got it running, added heated leather seats, a new head-unit that is USB/cd/MP3, A vr6 front lip.
I have new Lowering springs to get rid of the Raked look.
Make: Volkswagen
Modal: Jetta GL
Year: 1994 shell 1997 drive-train
Mileage: ~120k on the shell, 89k on the drive-train.
Transmission: 5 speed manual
Options: Sunroof, power locks, Heated leather
Color: black on black Leather
This was a 94 4cyl, auto. that was striped, and a wrecked 97 Jetta GLX was swaped over into, it has the 5 lug 5x100 wheels, with the VR6 brake package, the Vr6 motor, vr6 transmission, even the VR6 white face gauges showing the VR’s miles, even the VR trunk lid (spoiler) and smoked tails and the vr6 computer.
Pro’s: OBD1 shell, runs and drives great stops great. stupid cheap to insure, and makes for a fun car. my plan was to track it…
Mods: Race header, full exhaust, intake, fidenza(sp?) aluminum flywheel & newer clutch (20k ago)
Suspension: Koni adjustable struts,
Brakes: Drilled rotors, braided brake lines.
Brand NEW Yellow top optima battery, and 120amp alternator, Starter, newer calipers.
Cons:No A/C, No Cruise, Manual Crank Windows (although in my mind this is a positive if you know how crappy power windows in the MK3’s are), currently sitting on passat wheels with snows that need replacing before winter or could negotiate stock wheels with near new all-seasons. there is also a vibration in the drive train most likely an axle i haven’t had time to look into and really don’t drive the car much. also starting to develop the normal MK3 rot. also could use a hood release cable.
Ill set an asking price of $1499. i think is more then reasonable considering the low mileage drive-train.
I DID NOT DO THE SWAP, VR6Beast on DITB did. I just cleaned it up.
I would keep it, but i find myself just driving my TDI wagon, and this just sits the nice days i would drive this I take the bike.
