My roommate is selling his old passat. It’s a 96 GLX vr6, fully loaded. leather, 5 speed, heated seats, etc. 142k on the clock.
8mm taylor plug wires. about 20k ago took apart the doors, everything cleaned and lubed with white lithium. no freezing problems, but the locks are funny like all these cars (have to unlock/lock from the pass side sometimes). new all seasons (not sure of the brand, I’ll check next time I go outside.
the bad: clearcoat is sketchy on the trunk, little rust poking up on the bottom of the doors and the wheelwell (nothing major). exhaust leak near the cat. needs pads and rotors. drivers side mirror is missing glass (but the mirror is still there, just needs glass). sunroof drain is clogged, common problem. just need to blast it out with some air (I can’t do it as the car is off the road and my compressor is at my uncle’s house). sometimes tosses code P1580, so I have a spare TPS that comes with it. Drivers side window regulator; top 3 teeth are stripped, but I have a good regulator I will include. Needs an alternator belt.
I know this car is worth more, but I don’t want to bother with it, I’ve got 4 projects of my own right now. And he doesn’t want to bother with it. And his parents want it out of their driveway.
Still for sale. come get it quick some dude is supposed to come get it next weekend for $900 but I told him I wouldn’t mind if it were gone before then, first come first serve.
timing chain or Water pump done on it and when?
