I have 1987 and 1988 Pathfinders.
Both are 2 doors. 88 auto. 87 manual. Both white with blue interiors.
The 1988 has a decent body (some minor rust). The 1987 us waaaay rustier and was rearended by an ETS bus so the rear gate and spare tire rack are screwed. I had purchased the 87 as a parts donor to keep the 1988 on the road.
My 1988 was a daily driver but the engine “bucks”. Can’t for the life of me figure out what the heck is wrong with it and I have purchased a replacement daily driver so feel like calling it quits with these Pathys. I even tool the 88 to Mills Nissan after weeks of attempting repairs and they told me it was either the throttle position sensor, airflow meter or injectors. The price of these led me to purchase the parts truck. I removed the entire throttle body, etc., and swapped these over to the 88. Of course this didn’t rectify the problem. …thanks for nothing Mills Nissan (if I had let you fix it I would have paid through the nose for repairs that wouldn’t have fixed the problem).
If someone wants to swap the 87s engine (timing belt has been changed twice…and the engine ran just fine) into the 88 or just drive the 87 as it (just rusty) this is a good deal.
$500 for both excluding the hitch on the 88.
