2000 Yamaha YZF-R6
36387 on the clock
-New tires as of late june/early july. Dunlop Qualifiers 120/60, 180/55, maybe 2k on them. All easy miles, I don’t ride this very hard, you’ll see in the pics.
-Bike runs extremely well, oil changed when I first bought it, changed it after 3k, uses mobil 1 oil and filter, 5w-30 if i remember.
-Spark plugs just changed last night, NGK CR10EK’s, gapped properly.
-Carbs could use a syncing, you can hear it in the idle.
-NO TRANSMISSION GRIND, which is pretty rare. 2nd gear doesn’t kick out or anything.
-GYT-R pipe, not too loud, very nice tone.
-'02 tail conversion done by Willybeen and myself. '02 tail light and undertail, as well as R6 decals on the sides of the tail. Turn signals integrated into passenger foot pegs.
-Bike is extremely clean, never downed at speed, but I’ve dropped it twice, once in the garage and once while practicing circles, Willybeen saw both and can vouch for them being very easy drops as I eased it to the ground. Frame sliders took the damage for me.
-Bike has city lights (blue LEDs in the headlights) which look sharp.
If you have any questions feel free to ask, I’m honest about everything and if I don’t know I’ll find out.
This was my first bike ever, never ridden a dirt bike or anything, so as you can guess I took it extremely easy on it. I’ve put maybe 3,500 miles on it since I owned it and I’m just looking to pick up a newer bike, 03-up. Bike is very solid, there are no problems, glitches, or anything like that. Only thing I’d recommend is getting the carbs synced.
On to photo time:
