FS: '93 240sx Coupe

1993 Nissan 240sx Coupe
5sp
Blue/Green exterior, Black/Grey interior
138k miles
No power anything, no power steering and no a/c… lightest of the 93’s

The good:

-Car has never seen a winter, and is probably the cleanest s13 u will find in wny. Frame is in really good condition, which is becoming harder and harder to find on these cars.
-Comes with some suspension work: Tokico blues, with H&R springs. Tein Tie rods, Whiteline tension rod bushings. Has 16" konigs, front tires are about a year old with alot of tread left. The rear passanger tire is pretty much bald (ie: one wheel peel) and wll need to be replaced.
Auto-x’d this car at batavia as it sits right now, and it was very respectable finished in the top 1/4 of novice class, and thats with not so great kuhmo 712’s in the rear.
-Interior is in good shape, dash has no cracks etc
-Exterior is straight, driver door has some damage but i can source you one if needed

  • New clutch installed less than 10,000 miles ago, All 4 calipers also replaced less than 10,000 miles ago

I’ve been daily driving the car all summer, made the 7 hr trip to carlisle there and back without any problems. Starts up everytime without any problems.

The bad:

  • The input shaft bearing in the transmission is pretty much gone…which makes for alot of noise (similar to a throwout bearing sound i guess u could say). Still shifts fine and whatnot, but noisey
  • The motor burns oil, i suspect valve seals but never really got into it. I add about a quart of oil every 3 weeks of driving.
  • The above mentioned driver door, dented
  • The front bumper and driver fender are not the original ones, they were just krylon painted but look decent at the same time lol
  • Flip up headlights do not work, so i just leave them up all the time
People are giving away KA motor’s and tranny’s, so the first 2 really won’t cost much of anything if your handy with a wrench. It just never bothered me THAT much to look into fixing it since the car still drove fine.

All in all, the car is a lil rough around the edges, but is a great shell if your looking to build an sr20det swapped car, or just want somthing to turn into an auto-x car. And at the same time, i really could be continued to be drivin as is for quite some time still.

Kbb says: Consumer Rated Condition:Fair “Fair” condition means that the vehicle has some mechanical or cosmetic defects and needs servicing but is still in reasonable running condition. This vehicle has a clean title history , the paint, body and/or interior need work performed by a professional. The tires may need to be replaced. There may be some repairable rust damage.

i’m not gonna give it away but with winter coming i really don’t want to have to store it since i’ll have the rx7 back next summer anyways, kinda pointless. Want $1500, basically all the mods are free to the next owner. All i ask is that she gets a good home!

Just so potential buyers know, there may be problems bringing this car into Canada.

The RIV lists only the 1990 and 1991 240SX as being inadmissable, however there is a qualifier:

Vehicles equipped with passive restraints do not
meet CMVSS 210, seat belt anchorage location
requirements. Passive restraints are identified as
either a motorized upper torso restraint or door
mounted 3-point restraint.

Anyone interested in this car (great price!) should call the RIV to confirm that there will be no problems importing.

I’ve brought a car over from the US (S13 built in 1989) so if you’d like to know the process, feel free to pm me.

Just a question: Is that a factory color?

Judging by the engine bay, I’d say no.

wait,
no power steering?
does this mean there are manual steering racks for the s13???

No- if you look at the bay you can clearly see the PS reservoir.

VOUCH!

many of us niagara guys have seen this car. It is indeed very clean and would be an awsome project for anyone. You all know how hard it is to find a clean chassis s13 let alone coupe. Well worth the hastle.

Good luck with the sale Jay.

oh ya, does it make you feel any better if i tell you my rx7 is my winter beater and my s13 is my daily driver beater?! oh well atleast mine both work.

ok to answer a few of the questions…

yes, its a factory color, a pretty rare one at that. the color is saphire blue pearl. the engine bay just needs a good washing…i’ll admit the car has been sitting more than anything lately so i haven’t cleaned it in a while.

the car originally had power steering but it was removed.

oh and that price was USD, i forgot for a minute that this was the canadian board

jesse: don’t worry, everything will be right in spring with the rx7

Curious. Was this car in a minor fender bender? It would seem that from the pictures the driver side fender and bumper do not line up well with the hood, and as you mentioned have been replaced.

If it was accidented, are there any burdens lying beneath?

bout 3 yrs ago the previous owner drifted the car into one of those mile marker things on the side of the road. the car used to have a fiberglass nismo knockoff bumper on it, which obviously wouldn’t hold up to hitting anything lol hence why the bumper is replaced. at the same time it bent the corner of the driver fender, so that was replaced as well. definitly NO frame damage tho its completely straight, 100%. with some adjusting i’m sure you could get everything to line up perfect, it was close enough for me tho as this was just my daily driver.

up… clean car guys!

still for sale, have gotten some interest on here but nothing definite

mike, that is a factory color (not sure if that was answered) its a rare one though. Remind me and I can show you more pics and I think I have the paint code for it also. It’s a hot color, even hotter in person. (although its a lot lighter in pictures than it actually is for some reason)
