I have a set of cusco comp 2 that were installed on my car for about 3 days. There was a total of 78Km put on them since thier trip to Canada.
The issue with them is that the front dampers were damamged before they left Japan. I paid $1200 for the set and now have to go with something else, so my loss is an obvious gain.
The rears are mint, with very minimal wear and perform perfectly with 8 way dampening. These are inverted mono tubes so they are height adjustable as well. The front pillow ball upper mounts have generic wear on them, and should mount up to any s13 or s14 damper coilover or strut as all the ball dimensions are the same. They are full cable adjustable, but are a little tight on the s14 so you may need to do a little choppy choppy to your strut tower.
I’d like :
$550for the Rear coilovers
$250for the Front Pillow ball mounts
if you want what left of the fronts I’ll toss them in on request, but there’s not muct use in them.
Key to contact is bellow, I prefer pm as my msn and email get clogged up.
talk to the JDM_P rep on SON and im sure he will help you out, they are not fools to scam you and not take care of it…im sure they want in for the long term anyhow so they will help u …
And yes they originally came from JDM-Place, and yes I have talked to the jdm-p rep and I got the run around for a few months, and a very insulting amount of money back. because I did not install and use them within the first 30 days of them being purchased there was no warrenty. But they were almost 4 MONTHS late in getting them to me, and I was GARUNTEED a perfectly working product. So instead of replacing the fronts or doing anything… I got a very small amount of what I got ripped off for back.
Thats why I don’t and will not have anything to do with JDM-P or any of its affilates.
but I’m not here to dump on them, I’m here to sell these parts ! lol
NO run around was given. We tried a few places to get a quote on rebuilding them but came up empty which you were kept informed of. Cusco wanted more the repair (and with shipping both ways) then was worth doing or that JDMP was prepared to pay based on the fact you were WELL past your 30 day warrenty. We did you a favour despite you were 6 months ish past the warrenty.
We took you at face value that the coil’s were’nt abused or improperly installed on your car for a while before coming to us.
You were no different then anyone else that had wait because the shippment was delayed so long. If it was that bad you could have got a refund on your deposit before they arrived in the shop. This has NOTHING to do with the warrenty which was CLEARLY told to you ahead of time. Yes we guranteed them to work perfect, YES we would have fully refunded you in the proper time frame of the warrenty and Phil giving you back a partial refund was above and beyond what he had to do which was nothing. He felt bad and wanted to do something and what he paid back was more then fair based on the situation.
Not trying to start anything however I wanted to clerify all that led up to this unfortunate situation.
if I recall correctly, I did all the work trying to find a place to repair or rebuild them while you just gave me excuses. You provided no results or any attempt to find a quote to get them fixed.
I sent them to montreal, I paid the $50 in shipping, I called BC auto designs, I called cusco U.S.A. I got all the information regarding them, and all I got from you was “we’re looking into it” and “they’re past warrenty” anyone who was around knows I didn’t install them until 3 days before the last big meet and cuise of 2005. You “claimed” they were tested and such before they left Japan, well they were not, so I question anything that is “claimed” to be tested. ecause as soon as I installed them I knew something wasn’t right. I didn’t install them right away as my 240 wasn’t in a state where they needed, or could be installed.
Inside of warrenty or not, you sold me a crap product, and didn’t do very much to try and help me out. I just got FCUKing fed up with you and accepted the meager amount you offered. I was told by many people to take you and JDM-p to court over the situation, but I didn’t. So now someone asks about hte situation I’m telling them the truth. I just want these gone.
Yes I know you called those places and you sent them to Montreal without even knowing ahead of time if the company could repair them or not. So the 50.00 is cost you was’nt our fault.
Phil called 2 shops he knew of in Scarborough, I called 1 custom motor cycle shop in Oshawa all of whom did’nt want to even touch the coils. I then called Koni USA and was told they were’nt 100% sure that there parts would fit inside and as such, we did’nt want to pay all the money shipping them down there, having taken apart only for them to say it was’nt possible.
As for the “install” date, I did’nt say you did or did not do it right. I simply stated we took you at face value as you did us that they were tested in Japan. Of all the coilover’s Phil has sold, not just with 240’s, NONE have had any issues. I do know of one other situation with a set of 240 coilover’s and we were informed in the 30 day period and as such, that person will have them fixed, replaced or FULLY refunded.
I do know your car was off the road but honestly for the money you paid there are other ways of testing and if in the 30 days Phil would have been more then happy to do the same for you. He is not out to screw anyone over and both he and I are REALLY sorry this happened. Phil did what he could given the situation when as stated, he did’nt have to do anything.
You are entitled to think what you want, as are we and as are anyone reading this thread. Everyone will come to there own conclusion and I’m not here to agree or disagree with what they are. You stated what you did and I am simply stating what I am.
I don’t want this to go on any further then I’m sure you do and as I said I do wish you luck with the sale.
that’s fine, I don’t want this to go on any further than it already has. What happened between us is over, and I’m bitter about it, and I’m sure most everyone else would be too.
The the fact of the matter is that this doesn’t have anything to do with this sale. as I’m not offering any warrenty on my or your behalf. I’m not even selling the broken front coilovers, I’m selling the rears, and the front upper pillow ball mounts to help fund a new project.
I admit this was not handled in the best way by myself, but I’m bitter about the situation, and in retrospect it wasn’t the best topic to bring up. But I think that people should know the situation, both sides. Let them decide.
any subsequent posts in this thread will be related to and only to the sale of the product. The discussion is over; the matter is settled between the parties.
