Just bought a house so no time or spare cash for the sled anymore…
I have a 2000 Polaris XC700. Gen II Chassis. Red/Black 45th Anniversary Edition. Factory options: 12" Fox Suspension with electronic shock control, white faced gauges with electronic fuel and shock gauges, belly skid plate, hand/thumb warmers, and reverse.
It has over 2K in modifications (just in parts! not including labor). It has been a very reliable sled, only professionally serviced/modified. Until 2 yrs ago it was owned by my friend’s father who rode it mostly in Muskoka Canada. It is a VERY clean sled. The original boost bottle was defective so it cracked, leaked, and caused a lean piston burnout so the motor was completely rebuilt about 2K miles ago and runs/starts like its brand new! There’s about 4.5K miles on the odometer. I just had the new track put on last year, the bearings replaced, and chain case oil replaced with Genuine Polaris parts/fluids. I have a box full o’ original parts too.
This is a lot of sled! It’s very fast when you mash the throttle, but very calm around the local trails. I absolutely do not want to sell it but with just buying a house, I won’t have time/money to snowmobile this year.
Off the top of my head, these are the mods;
Engine:
Boost Bottle
Carb Kits (jets, needles, slides, etc.)
Clutch Kit (springs, helix, weights, etc.)
V-Force Delta II Reeds
SLP Billet Cheater Head
HTG Twin Pipes
SLP Silencer
Chassis:
Camoplast Ripsaw 1.25" Track
2" Handlebar Risers
Genuine Polaris Handlebar Hooks
Full Length Tunnel Foot Grips
Cobra Chrome Windshield
“HID White” Headlight
Here’s a website to get a better description of the mods:
http://www.mcbperformance.com/xc700.html
From the website:
“These kits clean up the low speed fuel circuit, which provide cleaner and crisper throttle response. The jettting changes richen the mid-range fuel circuit for added reliability against burn-down, in the area where these 700’s are lean from the factory. The clutching changes and V-Force Reeds provide much more aggressive low-end and mid-range acceleration. This kit makes the motor run at slower rpm’s at cruising speeds for improved fuel mileage, clutch engagement is 4200 rpm and max shift is 7800-8000 depending on the year and cylinders that your specific model has (824/220). For additional top-end speed, twin pipes must be added.”
I’d like to get $2,000 for the sled.
pics below in post #5!!
Now for the trailer, it’s a 2004 Trailmaster 2 place tilt bed trailer from LOE Trailer Sales in Niagara Falls. It has a tongue wheel/jack, ski runners, rubber stud mats, and a salt shield. LOE still sells and services them. It’s in great shape.
Asking $900 for the trailer.
Oh, I also have a matching Polaris helmet and Polaris jacket if u need them, probably worn about 6 times! (I’m about 5’9" 165)
