For Sale I have a RB25DET engine with RB25 Transmission. I just purchased this engine off Canadianskyline. The reason I am selling the engine is… I am trading my GTS-t skyline for a GTR. The New owner wanted a RB25 in the car but decided to take cash to purchase other stuff. So I am looking to make a quick sale here on the engine.
This engine came out of a 1991 GTS-t, it was swapped over last spring to the car by AutoDream in Calgary. It currently has around 45,000kms (will confirm) and has been compression tested by the former owner, will also confirm numbers.
The engine does have a R34 NEO6 bottom end with R33 top end. The NEO offers a stronger block with a few advantages in strength, higher HP numbers R33 ~ 250hp to R34 ~ 280hp and Uprated Turbo. Overall I think having the R33 head and programming is better because the wiring for the Neo is supposively much more difficult.
Here is a list of what is all included with the sale of this engine…
RB25det engine
RB25 Transmission
Brand New ACT Heavy duty 6 puck clutch ~good to over 450rwhp
Used clutch in engine right now.
ECU with uncut harness
Intake manifold
Exhaust manifold
RB25 NEO turbo
Throttle body
RB25 MAF sensor
RB25 driveshaft/yoke.
etc…
everything needed for swap is included.
Just so everyone is clear, I will not be making anything on this sale. All money will be going to the new owner of my GTS. So please dont offer me $2000 or $2500 shipped etc… The price is firm.
My asking price is…
$3000
Chris was asking exactly that for the engine when I purchased it. I am including a brand new clutch at no extra charge, I just need this gone!
Location: Lethbridge Alberta
Shipping?: Yes, at buyers expense.
Not to burst anyone’s bubble but I’d like to inform that…
The neo block isn’t much better than the R33 block. This extra power stated above comes from the high flowing head (not in this swap) and the turbo that does come from this swap. The block itself, as far as I’ve read, does not increase the horsepower.
However, by using this block you know its from a R34 (read: newer/less kms)
I’m now trying to shoot down anything that skylinegtr20 has said. Just stating what I’ve learned for potential buyers.
Otherwise this is a great buy, it is a newer block, a nicer turbo and a new clutch; but do not be surprised when it does not push neo numbers (280hp).
Yes definetly, I actually have a friend using the NEO head with the high flow intake manifold and all the little electrical peices of the new NEO engine.
He much prefers the R33 head over the NEO head as it actually creates too much lag. I beleive the throttle body is 100mm
He is currently at a road block for his engine because he cant get a decent tune. Power FC’s are a 1 in a million for the NEO, Also all electrical peices pose a daunting task to master.
If anyone would be interested I can contact him and ask if he would be in to answering some questions for interested buyers.
On GTRC Marvin at Autodream confirmed that this motor is a true NEO6. This is what he posted there!
For what it’s worth:
that is a full NEO6 engine. People think that it’s an R33 due to the cam angle sensor and lack of engine cover. The cam angle sensor was swapped so that it could use an R33 ECU.
So no worries of what would cause the engine to need a head swap, it’s a full meal deal R34 NEO-6!
