I found this on it- There seems to be a run on Sony’s with this problem. As I stated in an earlier post, it may have been a power surge that snuffed a fuse inside the unit. You have to get the back off to be sure. It also could be a failure in the low voltage supply.

well let me know im not going to spend more then 20 on something that does not work if i knew if i can fix it for under 100 then i would throw you the 85 but you really dont know what is wrong with it…and i dont think anyone on this site will pay that much for something that does not work…so let me know in a week or two when you will take 20
on a note what are the standby lights doing? blinking or ??..does it make a clicking sound when you first plug it in
