For sale is my Garrett T3/T04E 60 trim turbo. I’ve been using this turbo for approximately 3 summers. It has about 18000 total miles on it. Last summer I had some small oil burning issues, and I thought the seals might be on their way out. I sent the turbo to Blaast for a rebuild. Turned out to be an issue with the turbo drain line, but now since the rebuild, the turbo has approx. 5000 miles on it. I don’t intend to hide anything about the turbo, so here it is.
- I’ve started burning a small amount of oil at start up and warming up. It’s not my motor, so I think the seals are starting to go again or something. I’ve check my feed and my drain, they’re fine. There is no blue smoke during boost or heavy throttle.
- There is some kind of burnt black substance on the bottom of the turbo near where the hot side housing meets the center section.
- There also seems to be a very small amount of oil on the bottom of the center section near the exhaust side.
- The turbo also has a small amount of shaft play.
- Its run a maximum of 10psi in the time I’ve owned it, but it usually runs 8 psi.
- spools fast and holds power throughout my powerband
The turbo is still on my car and will be until I order a new one (early this week). The turbo will be off the car and officially ready for new ownership by next weekend. I was planning on driving the car this week, but if someone has cash in hand and wants the turbo now I have no problems pulling it off asap. It would probably take about an hour for me to take off the car. Any other questions, feel free to ask.
$350 NEGOTIABLE
Pics to come later.
UPDATE: Turbo is off the car as of yesterday and is ready for sale. Here are some pics. There are two numbers on the tag on the compressor side housing of the turbo. The compressor housing is off because I had to remove it to get the turbo out.
