Wix are great. i use the oem VW filter. holds up to my oil change intervals

Good man. Boutique filters (Mobil 1/KN/Amsoil) are a ripoff.

the K&N is pretty decent, but the price is not.

Exactly.

Someone on bobistheoilguy sliced open a platinum and its a re branded Wix with a Synthetic media. will be using this my next change

Regular Wix if fine, save the money

yeah but people who prefer extended drain intervals can benefit from the full wire backed media. i’m not balling enough to switch oil every 1k like yourself :lol

i change my oil every 7500-10k. i use T6 rotella and a oem vw cartridge

I have a dumpy motor so my intervals stay 3k but I said fuck it and went to advance and bought Bosch distance plus and T6 just now

Sorry lol yes all the better filters are made by Wix.

I have a stock pile of the K&N only due to the deals at Advance…

Ive never had an issue with Supertech filters from Walmart and Ive been using them for years in several vehicles.

Well youre lucky. Fram (and knockoffs made by Fram) have been known to break down and get sucked into the engine. A couple years ago there was an epidemic of it and Fram paid out the ass for new engines and labor for the swaps.

Fram Extraguard is OK but i still won’t use in on my cars.

Champion Labs makes the Super Tech filters and a ton of other ones like STP, BOSCH, etc but all are different specs.

we already had a thread about this…
