GM is the ruler of the free world

That makes sense but they still need to set up all of the other infrastructure to support it. Is it possible that it might not be profitable anymore?

actually the new malibu’s are above the quality of the camary but the fact that -

  1. gm has a bad rep towards quailty so people just assume gm quality is worse

  2. gm sales people suck as trying to bring the good points to light and lets customer bring the bad points instead (you can’t win a battle when your always aginst the ropes)

  3. gm seems to despriate (only b/c they are) to sell the cars and give’s all these huge rebates towards the car to help them with trying to sell them. but it comes off as despriate and not a “smart buy”

  4. The U.A.W. - the leech of the american automakers

yes but lets take honda and acura for instance… call a honda dealer and try to get parts for your acura… if it’s not a peice of the motor or some random generic motor/switch then they don’t have it and don’t carry it and you would need to go to an acura dealer. now for me… if i have an arcadia in the shop and i need an wiper arm or a door molding i don’t need to call a GMC dealer… i can just look it up and order it thru me…

gm copies to many thing from one car to another… back in the 50 and 60’s when people where die hard chevy or pontiac then yea it would be ok… now the only thing people look for is a deal no one gives a fuck what gm/ford/chysler logo is on it

How is that a positive or negative other than customer convenience the 1-4 times annually their vehicle is in for service?

I think Lexus and Acura have a significant advantage over Ford/Lincoln because of how well they separate the brands. It creates a luxury image by differentiating it over the cheaper economy models.

My $.02.

Done discussing it with the unconditional GM fanbois. ;D Like Jammer.

you don’t mean my when you say fanboi do you? i hate this god damn company… thats what working with cintron for over a year does to you

The only new GM Id buy is a Corvette. Its basically the only one that isnt a bland rental car anyway.

The Escalade is pimp.

I can think of better ways to spend $60k. Back to the Vette again.

my duramax has denali interior :giggedy

GM makes alot of interchangable shit. hence the same damn radio in every GM ever made pretty much. We have pretty much one of every vehicle in my family and the company. Dont even get me started on the new tundra :headbang

I dont see interchangeable parts as a great thing. I see it more as a cheapening of the lineup when the same part is shared between a POS Cobalt and a higher end model.

I used to have a few S10’s and the stereos were the same in just about any GM made from '86-'94. Maybe the knobs were slightly different but the deck would plug in and work just fine from a Cavalier to a Cadillac.

No…the Escalade HYBRID is pimp. Apparently the execs at GM think that the hybrid model of the Escalade was going to save the WHOLE company from bankruptcy. If one can afford to drop $65K on a vehicle, is the price of gas ever a concern? Those retards deserve to go bankrupt. But as someone else in this thread said, it’s not the product that GM sells that’s causing the problem. ::slight_smile:

id get a chevy or gme 3500 duramax dually 4wd or a c6 z06 or a new cobalt ss if i’d buy gm stuff.

I dont like the GM 3/4 ton+ trucks because of the ifs in the front. Ford and Dodge use sfa’s on their trucks and theyre more capable of plowing and stuff.

Look how much a GM sags with a plow on it compared to the others.

No way would I buy any Cobalt. Id rather have a Neon SRT4.

sfa’s? personnaly out of all 3 3/4 ton trucks, the GM facelift looks the best.

solid front axle

i think you nailed it on the head, people are looking at the same cars and asking themselves why are they paying more for the same thing, i know the general public isnt that smart but they were eventually going to catch on :crackup

ya well ok lets set one thing straight i dont think Shawn96VR-4 has been watching the news because GM might of been “failing” even years ago but like was said before its the CEOs rather than their product and my no means is GM great or anything spectacular but it does have the most brands and seem to be doingthe worst but thats because ALL the brands are bringing each other down (even before) plus Shawn96VR-4 might wanna realize if he claims to watch the news the GM has the most unions than any ther company which besides the economy and the product… the unions killed than the most because slim to no foriegn companies have unions!

and on top of all this they GM did not follow the consumers needs they kept build heavy slug that were overpriced and lack alot of options, fuel economy, power and kept marketing their fleet suvs and truck while Toyota, Nissian, and Mazda marketed there fuel efficient versatile and eco friendly cars so what GM Ford and Chrysler are doing now in desperation the foreign cars have been doing for the last 5 years

blah blah blah

It’s the CEO’s fault that quarter after quarter is a huge loss? To be fair, I doubt anyone can pinpoint the failure. However, the product has been highly criticized by many analysts even today. Maybe you know something they don’t know? Get an invite to Washington and save GM!

hey, shawn96vr4 might be a douche sometimes… but 60% of the time, hes right everytime :hug

never said he was a douche :giggedy said unions alones could of been the primary reason for gms fail even 5 years ago because when the gm laid of hundreds of thousands of workers they were still making 96% of there pay collecting pension and thats good for a whole year so you do the math and GMs the worst when it comes to union out of the "“big 3” and unions in the foreign automarket are non existent to an extreme few…

so before you figure who sells more whos more popular and whatever GM’s already behingd before you start comparing when it comes to there finances and possibility of success yes they carry the most brands but like i said noe of there brands were doing well each one was bring the other on down…
