No they jumped off the SOPA bandwagon when people started the exodus from GoDaddy. Then they tried to cover their asses by saying If our customers support SOPA then we do, if not then we won’t. Something to that effect, it was fucking lame as shit.
exactly, it was lame as shit, and their original stance was pro-sopa. so fuck them
mine was down all day yesterday
Even worse was Mike’s Subs was down…no online ordering.
The only thing I have heard was it was a pure DDoS and not a hack so no information was jacked…
The hacker claimed to be able to take down Google and took down Facebook at the end of May. I really wanna know what he is using to overload all these sites. He hasn’t come out with if it is Anti SOPA still. The only thing he has retweeted was the original GoDaddy exodus when the CEO shot some elephant.
GoDaddy finally releases a statement, says it wasn’t a hack and they just fucked it up completely on their own.
The guy who claimed the hack had the following to say:
"Yesterday, GoDaddy.com and many of our customers experienced intermittent service outages starting shortly after 10 a.m. PDT. Service was fully restored by 4 p.m. PDT. The service outage was not caused by external influences. It was not a “hack” and it was not a denial of service attack (DDoS). We have determined the service outage was due to a series of internal network events that corrupted router data tables. Once the issues were identified, we took corrective actions to restore services for our customers and GoDaddy.com. We have implemented measures to prevent this from occurring again.
At no time was any customer data at risk or were any of our systems compromised.
Throughout our history, we have provided 99.999% uptime in our DNS infrastructure. This is the level our customers expect from us and the level we expect of ourselves. We have let our customers down and we know it."

This was probably some change management gone wrong…
In my days with TWC I have seen this happen a lot
Only three 9s for uptime? pfffff I want five
You would be surprised how much the extra 9’s mean for some businesses. There is datacenter and systems engineering models based around it.
A friend of mine just got an email from GoDaddy offering him 1 free month of hosting for each site he has hosted with them.
I didn’t :(…fggts.
and according to them…it was their fault.
Nothing sent to us yet either, but they only provide our DNS for the domain.
I know, and what it takes to actually achieve X number of 9s can be beyond ridiculous.
