Hey dude, that red-top is really a blacktop motor. Those cooling fins only came on blacktops. Check the ECU, if it is an E5 it’s a blacktop for sure. The guy in Japan must have swapped valve covers. Hope this helps.

that is what i thought and was told by alot of people but just to clear things up for everyone the late model redtop did infact have the fins thanks for trying to help out though

late model redtops did have fins!

some blacktops didnt have fins either in 1995 and 1998…

I didn’t think that red tops had those lines cast in the front of the cylinder head? I cant tell from the pic but does the black-top have them? if it doesn’t…maybe the valve covers got switched???
