My one and only experience with Valvoline was with my '84 Porsche 944. I was in a hurry leaving school for a road trip and desperately needed an oil change, so I stopped at one in Henrietta. First issue was having the tech open the hood so far he ripped the hood strut out of the mounting bracket on the inner fender. Second issue was destroying the oil filter after removing it without having a proper replacement. Third problem was spilling a good bit of oil onto the exhaust manifold so I could enjoy that smell for the next few hours in the car. After they finished, the explained they used a VW Scirocco oil filter since they were both German cars and of the same vintage. If I wasn’t in a hurry and a little bit smarter, I never would have driven off with my car in that condition. An hour down the road when I couldn’t handle the image in my head of the engine blowing up, I pulled into an AutoZone parking lot and did another oil change. Thankfully they left the torque stick attached to the oil drain plug so I had the right size socket to drain the oil out.
Way to go Josh.
