Grow light

Does any one have one ?

just go get a salt water aquarium light … cheaper … draw less power … better results …

^Yeah, like The Hip video? If look in the video the plant in the aquarium is weeeeeeed.

for tomatoes?

high pressure sodium or metal halide?

Yea what exactly are you looking for? theres many ways to go about this. you got T5, Power Compact, metal halide etc. metal halide would probably be best but not energy efficient.

1000w hps in the closet hahahaha, it would probably get very hot

I can get you any size and type of fixture that you want, It will be at MFG cost +10%

That is still well below retail. You will have to give the exact size and type.

If you are trying to grow plants of any nature, you will want to use an array of 6 lamp T5’s or a 1000 watt MH. The t5’s produce less heat so you can save on space by keeping them closer to the plant, the Metal Halide produces the best light conditions, but you will have to keep it several feet higher than the plants as it produces lots of heat and can kill your plants.

lol

this may sound crazy, but fluoro >*. energy efficient, low heat so you can keep it close, and plants have better results than with hps.

It also produces better light. The light spectrum from worst to best is HPS, MH, FL.

Sodium sucks, metal halide is great but it is hot and expensive. The new T5 lamps have it all figured out, Lower energy costs, Tons less heat, and they provide the best UV spectrum for the growth of plants. Only downside is cost. To get a really good T5 high bay with a 100% downlight reflector gets pretty pricey. You will want a “120V 6 lamp high bay with 0% uplighting” Any lighting or electrical distributor will know what you want.

Just rewire standard florescent light. You can “over clock them” i’ll post up the DIY later.
