GT4 Corner Question.

anyone know how to take that corner in Seoul right after the long straight in GT4? Currently trying to beat my RX7 record of 1:08.534 using an NSX-R. I beat it with the M3 but i was disappointed with the end result 1:08:124. It seemed that the RX-7 was faster in the turns. I was able to find a really fast line through that turn with the NSX but i am unsure how i was able to do it as i was not paying attention to what i was doing but rather using instinct.

The NSX-R is a way faster road car stock for stock. you shouldn’t have much trouble beating it. I will see what kind of time I can put down come winter. Thats the only time I really play video games.

Stock RX-7 I am using:

HP: 290
Weight: 1260*i think or 1250
Tires: R:H F:S

Stock NSX-R i am using
HP: 291
Wieght: 1270
Tires: R:H F:S

The NSX is fast its just that i cant seem to get a good line on that corner and i lose a lot of time not to mention i keep getting to close to the wall. I was only able to get round that corner as fast as the RX-7 once but i have no idea how i did it. Gripped, then e-brake, correct, ebrake and gas was what the ghost looked like it was doing. Cant replicate i get 1 min 10 sec as my lowest with the NSX.

The fastest way through the corner is definately not ebrake. Take an out-in-out line. I’m not exactly sure where the clipping point is on that corner, as I don’t play that course very often, but it’s usually on the rumble strip shortly after the midway point of the corner.

Try trail-braking a little into the corner as this will put a tiny bit of a drift on your entry (especially since the car is MR) and set you up for the apex. Then slowly ease back on to the gas and only romp on it once you’re aligned for the exit. And remember, do not get back on the gas until you’re sure you won’t have to get off it again. Ideally, from the time you finish braking to the time you’ve exited the corner you should be openning the throttle in a smooth, progressive manor.

Just experiment with different braking points and pressures as well as lines, turn in should be gradual, not abrupt and you should not be using the ebrake if you’re grip racing.

**Edit: Oh, and use the same tires all the way around. Because of the difference in grip you’re probably losing some time due to unnecessary tire spin.

forgive my lack of technical knowlege on racing lines what is:

out-in-out line?

Was able to beat the 7 with 1:08.339 prior to seeing your post. Though the 7 was faster still through that corner.

An out-in-out line is when you set up for the corner along the outside edge of the track, and then as you’re going through the corner your racing line takes you to the inside edge of the track where you “clip” a point on that edge of the track, then as you continue towards the exit your line takes you back to the outside edge of the racetrack.

**Edit: Here’s an article that goes way more indepth than I can. http://www.turnfast.com/tech_driving/driving_cornering.shtml

Try reading the other articles on accelerating and braking as well. They’re quite handy.

sweet awesome, definietely will be reading those articles. Do you think getting a wheel for GT4 would be worth the 150$$.

I never use the wheel I have for GT4. Way too hard compared to the controller.

The wheel is fun if you’re looking for a challenge. I hardly ever use it because I’m too lazy to set it up to play but I actually managed to beat a few of my lap times I had set with the controller.
