How’s the gnocci down there Shawn? I have yet to find somewhere that makes it as good as I’m used to.
Fair enough but I cannot justify $20-$25 for a pasta dish with some chicken and a wine sauce. Pasta is just soo damn cheap and I know the sauce doesn’t have $500 tomatoes. But, I guess the best has a surcharge.
Typically red or a cream sauce. Always homemade. I am a bit weird on it because it can be horrible. Honestly, I haven’t been to an Italian place that was bad. Some are better than others but I typically like Southern Italian joints. A lot of the places are either steak and/or seafood with the basic italian menu. Most seem to put bread/oil for free. Some don’t serve a salad with the meals, it’s ala carte.
But, the best pizza I ever had is at Grimaldi’s just over Brooklyn Bridge. I drive there often just for that with the wife.
I will pay a good ammount of money if the foods good, the place could be a complete shithole but if a (ill use ur example) pasta dish with some chicken had a 30 dollar price id pay it if the chicken was moist, their was a decent ammount, the wine sauce wasnt to rich, and the pasta sauce had good quality tomatoes that were too sweet or to bitter and was the right density if you will
I have no problem paying for good food
but if I went to a place that was the most gorgeous restaurnt on earth, payed the same ammount for that dish and it sucked, i would walk right the fuck out

I like mixing alot of my foods together, it all goes to the same place and serves the same purpose, simplify it

Yea they have some pretty good food. I used to be friends with the owners kids, but ehh that was a long time ago.
I acctualy really miss Bambinos on erie blvd the owner Joey and my dad used to cook together, the food there was phenomenal, the only problem was they dident know how to not spend the money they make on anything but themselves. (not my father he dident work for him lol)
Joey is an awsome cook, him and my father are 2 really good cooks together… too bad they dont anymore I guess its a good thing my dad dident go in on him with bambions or we woulda been fooked…
Unfortunately my dad can’t cook for shit. And my mom is not Italian. I might actually have to start cooking my Italian food myself. :ahh
my buddy and i took a family pack of velveta mac and cheese and 2.5 pounds of beef, cooked it all and mixed it together the other night, we call it man food. Ive been making it since highschool, i even took a picture of it the other night
