help getting calipers witch one r32gtr 32mm or 300zx 30mm

hey i need to know weather it would be wiser to go with 300zx 30mms or the r32 gtr 32mm. and what would be needed to get the swap done thanks.

IF you can get the r32 then get the r32. The only special part you would need is the rotors because they are a bit larger in diameter. Hell, you dont NEEEED it, you could use the 300zx rotors but you will get slight pad overrun.

To sum it up for r32 GTR you use:
GTR rotors
300zx brake pads

ok well i have a chance to buy aluminum r32 gtr 32mm for $300 fully rebuilt and powder coated so i will most likely go with that, just where would i find 32mm rotors? the only place i know is ams and there $400, but 300zx pads will fit correct? and for the ss lines i would get the 300zx ones as well?

No, 300zx won’t fit. you’d have to order AMS or DBA. GTR calipers are larger than Z32. R32 Non-GTR is what is compatible with the Z32. **rotor-wise.

Don’t believe us? Ask a vendor like Varun, I thought GTR was the same as Z32 as well until I was buying parts.
Think about it this way: GTR rotors and pads are more expensive and less available than Z32. If you think you’re losing out on performance, there are a lot of fast cars that compete (formula D, time attacks, etc.) that use Z32/R32 non-GTR calipers/rotors/pads. Get the SS lines either way, you’re going this far to upgrade your brakes already, SS lines aren’t expensive.

Oh yea I forgot about the SS lines. 300zx will work.

^^ Yeah, sorry should’ve clarified a little bit, 300zx SS lines will work with either.

^^ so this is why you overslept …loafty asshole LOL

I was in the same dilemma last year and went for the R32 non-GTR (same as the Z32 calipers) because

a) readily available rotors which are much cheaper
b) they clear stock S13 rims (the ones with ribs behind em) if you use a spacer. I used a 15mm but I believe the minimum is 8mm.

If you don’t care for a) and b) then I say go for the GTR calipers.

+1 on the SS lines.

^ What do you plan to do with the car?

my plans for this car is to do serious time attack and some drag, it’s already half way there and i just want to have the best there is for the car. but if it’s going to be a bitch to find brake pads and rotters then i guess zs are the way to go. so z32 brake pads wll not fit the gtr 32mms ? rotters i will go with the ams $500 ones

the “rotters” are different, but assuming your buying good rotors, dba, brembo etc, id say that whoever you would be buying them from could get them for either setup. Same with pads.

Check Varun and see

I need ma sleeep YO

No you don’t. You don’t get to complain. I went to work almost every night after helping you . Bitch. LOL
