Help Help - Sr20 Overheating!

man fix the fan in ur drive way and if thats not the problem witch it is then tow it + where did warped head come from?

could be air in the system, water pump, thermostat.

Where did you get the warped head idea?

I posted the same introductory message in a thread on torontonissan that somebody had replied to.

That and it makes sense since now the pistons don’t seem to be moving properly in their chambers at ignition, along with the overheating issue, idle RPM is 1000 more than usual before it tapers down to 700-800 (the usual), and the small temporary oil leak around the manifold.

I don’t see oil mixing in the coolant but you don’t ALWAYS see that if that is the problem (finished head gasket), and I don’t see any white smoke…so these are good things.

I know the car (purchased from blu_olr) had a new Walbro water pump put in…but I mean who really knows. Today I’ll have some answers that’ll at least put me at ease…maybe not my wallet, but we’ll see, hehe

I think you need to take the car to shop that can help you fix this problem properly. Pistons arent moving in the chambers properly??..Im not even going to touch that.

Its either a minor problem or something major but I dont think you can diagnose it properly. No offense.

No offense taken
It’s either shit or get off the pot; I’m not aiming to write a thesis here, hehe.

But this is the first place I wanted to at least get a bit of insight and knowledge for this scenario and engine overall. I’ve learned quite a bit since, and I thank everybody for their input.

…now I have to save up to see what the bill is going to be

Turned out to be the turbo coolant hose was rotted, and a lot of electrical lines were cooked. The engine is completely fine

Put a nismo thermostat in to boot, battery box, trying to install the kouki cluster, hatch is being repaired (need trunk lid shocks), fuse box mod to house the radiator/thermal sensor relay, plus a serious oil change :stuck_out_tongue:

apparently the car has a LOT of electrical issues that were never addressed before the car was sold. But I’m looking forward to the kouki cluster install if I can manage it

good to hear

Repairs/mods done:

-Type-X/kouki cluster (w/ blue led cluster bulbs, and real carbon fiber bezel) OMG looks sweet
-ignition led (blue) glow ring mod
-battery box (no more bouncy battery)
-radiator fan with proper relays
-new electrical lines
-new coolant hose
-complete hatch wiring and repair including dampers -mint now-
-nismo thermostat, nismo rad cap, and nismo carbon fiber shift knob)
-frontend fastened/reinforcement (lower support rod)

checked up on it yesterday…she sounds badass now

I have yet to complete my z32 caliper upgrade. still need to paint and clean the other caliper. Also looking into the VLSD addition down the road.
