Normally, I don’t like these kinds of threads… but this place is new, so I’m trying to generate some posting from everyone!
My car is an '03 CS Z, like it says in my sig. I will be lowering her soon on a proper suspension (thinking Bilstein PSS9 at the moment), and I also want some wider rubber (255/40R18 front, 275/40R18 at the rear; gotta keep the VDC happy), which of course means new shoes.
Step 1 complete: I know what tire dimensions I’m after (performance first!). Now, Step 2 is picking the appropriate shoes. I want stylish, but subtle, and I want something that is strong relatively light (certainly lighter than stock!). Oh, and I’m hoping I won’t need to sell a kidney to pay for them.
So far, I’m considering a set of silver Nismo LM4-GTs (8.5 width up front, 9.5 in the rear)
maybe some Volk TE-37s in Merc. silver (if I can find them), or poss. gunmetal
or perhaps even something like Racing Hart CP 510s, or CP-F tunes (in SBC or black) like you can see here…

Of course, then there’s also baller rims like Work S1 Meisters in black… but these are also pretty $$$ and not all that light (but Work rims are strong as hell… I had a set of Nezarts on my SiR and they never bent despite the horrible potholes and bumps that they endured).
And while we’re on the subject of black rims w/polished lip on a CS Z, if I could score a set of 18 inch Volk LE28 in this trim, I’d jump all over them!
Okay, any thoughts/experiences with any of these? Anyone think I SHOULDN’T get one of these sets? Got some other suggestions? Of course, I always reserve the right to do whatever I want, but I’m all ears when it comes to new ideas/just having a conversation about it.
