Help me pick some rims, people!

Normally, I don’t like these kinds of threads… but this place is new, so I’m trying to generate some posting from everyone!

My car is an '03 CS Z, like it says in my sig. I will be lowering her soon on a proper suspension (thinking Bilstein PSS9 at the moment), and I also want some wider rubber (255/40R18 front, 275/40R18 at the rear; gotta keep the VDC happy), which of course means new shoes.

Step 1 complete: I know what tire dimensions I’m after (performance first!). Now, Step 2 is picking the appropriate shoes. I want stylish, but subtle, and I want something that is strong relatively light (certainly lighter than stock!). Oh, and I’m hoping I won’t need to sell a kidney to pay for them.

So far, I’m considering a set of silver Nismo LM4-GTs (8.5 width up front, 9.5 in the rear)

maybe some Volk TE-37s in Merc. silver (if I can find them), or poss. gunmetal

or perhaps even something like Racing Hart CP 510s, or CP-F tunes (in SBC or black) like you can see here…

Of course, then there’s also baller rims like Work S1 Meisters in black… but these are also pretty $$$ and not all that light (but Work rims are strong as hell… I had a set of Nezarts on my SiR and they never bent despite the horrible potholes and bumps that they endured).

And while we’re on the subject of black rims w/polished lip on a CS Z, if I could score a set of 18 inch Volk LE28 in this trim, I’d jump all over them!

Okay, any thoughts/experiences with any of these? Anyone think I SHOULDN’T get one of these sets? Got some other suggestions? Of course, I always reserve the right to do whatever I want, but I’m all ears when it comes to new ideas/just having a conversation about it.

NISMOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

Then powdercoat the spokes gold
OH SEXY!!! oh wait, you’re car’s not black. oops, was thinking about my car… wanna buy those rims for me?

But I say Volks TE37. They’re pretty light, good looking, and probably best bang for the buck compared to Nismo.

:: Nismooooo ive seen thos silver ones on a 350z ughhhh pure hotness… go silver with the chrome lip:rolleyes:1242

Actually, I’m leaning towards the Nismo LMGT4 rims in silver. You guys are good.

Now, I have recently become enamored with some less expensive goodies from Enkei, like these NT03+Ms…

and of course, the RPF1s…

Of course, I’m still stuck on the Racing Hart CP-510s and CP-F tunes, too (check the above RH link) Decisions, decisions…

Eww… I never liked the Enkei’s. But if you want cheaper alternatives to Nismo, there’s a Nismo look alike called Kazera KZ-A’s. a lot cheaper…

ugh dunno not my style… if you like tem go for it

Oh I know!!! GO BALLIN AND GET ZEP’S RIMS!!!

Or Volks LE37T

Not looking for look-alike anything, really. I just want to get a great set of rims for a decent price. Enkeis are tracked… hard. A lot of prof. drifters and Super GT (i.e. JGTC) drivers use them.

Good luck finding a set of LE37s anywhere for something less than the price of a kidney, though…

Honestly, I need to get some stats on those two Racing Hart rims, not to mention their price. Until then, it’s still Nismo LMGT4, Volk TE37, and Enkei RPF1 or NT03-M (hey, I like 'em!).

Actually there’s a guy selling a set of LE37’s for a good price. Lemme link you

Edit: found it, http://www.g35.ca/board/index.php?showtopic=5526&st=0

Those ARE nice! Thanks for the link. :R

Not going to buy them, though. I’m not interested in 19s, and while some may like the look of gold rims on a silver car, I’m not one of them

DAMMIT! I did it again, I thought gold on black car again -_-… Forgot your’s silver AGAIN. hahaha

CHECK MY AVATAR, FOO!

Pfft, anyone can have a avatar of any car of any color of anything. Hmph!

LOL! Okay, you got me, my car is really Super Black, just like you envisioned

Damn right! smokes some more crack

Okay. Seriously looking at LMGT4 and TE-37 rims. Now, I just saw an amazing deal on another set of incredibly light, beautiful rims.

BBS RG-R, anyone?

And this pic is of a CS Z, too… so I know how it would look.

TE-37’s :R

Oh and looky here

Is it your lucky day or what???

So close…

Beautiful rims, but they’re the wrong size (diameter and width) and wrong offset. Too bad… I’d love a set of merc. silver TE37s. Thanks for trying, though! :R

why do you want to stay 18s? If you’re going for looks, 19s FTW!!!

What are your requirements? Work Emotion’s are pretty good looking rims as well, and i think they’re lighter than stock.

In face, if you go TE/CE/LE in 19s, they’re probrably STILL lighter than stock LOL.

I’m going for performance, not looks. And I like having a taller sidewall that reduces risk of curbage. Let’s see, better acceleration, less risk of damage, and cheaper. 19s FTL.

17s would be even better, but honestly on a street driven Z 17s look TOO small. 17s would be great if I wanted a set of track only rims, though.

EVERYthing in 18 is lighter than stock. The stock rims weigh approx 26 lbs (not confirmed, but I’ve seen multiple reports on this). Work Emotions are nice, but I want the lightest, nicest rims possible. Right now, it’s the Nismo LMGT4, the Volk TE37, or the BBS RG-R. I think I’m going to buy the Nismo, but the price on the RG-Rs right now are incredible, and those are beautiful, proven rims.
