Some sort of 120 year old math problem was solved by a mix of international collaberation and supercomputing. Sounds like a big deal but I read the whole article and have no idea what they did. I’m guessing I’d need a PhD in math to really grasp what they accomplished.
Interesting. I know a bit of graph theory, but I’d be really interested to hear a couple of math major friend’s take on this. Sounds pretty amazing though.
Yeah, the article said something about solving a 600,000 x 600,000 matrix, which I can grasp enough to know that’s impressive as hell. Something about symmetry in 200-some-odd dimensions. :gotme:
