I still have my job, but I just lost...

So far, just a wage freeze at my company and some layoffs. We went on the shared work program, so i work 4 days a week starting next week and collect unemployment for the 5th. I’m a little nervous as to whats gonna happen. things are slowly picking up at least.

Lots of shops are growing.
Not sure if you’re counting strictly machine shops, but API Basco has growth, thats dealing with Heat exchangers, Adsco is as well, and that’s expansion joints and heat exchangers.
IIRC Cobey Inc. is doing farely well, or it was as of late last year.

Well, to my surprise, we did actually get our profit sharing this year (albiet only 5.5%, compared to 11% last year), and our reviews are coming up in April, so hopefully we’ll get raises too…but we’ll see…

When i started with the state there is/was a program that if you saved up 1200 hrs of sick time, when you retired you could cash that in to pay your healthcare in retirement. They are now attempting to eliminate it. They are also trying to take the contracted 3% raise in april, plus my health care just jumped 30%

the company is doing great. its actually expanding still but i have lost my dignity.

I lost a good portion of my race car sponsorship :frowning:

When I got laid off from Circuit City I lost my matching 401k, and health insurance. I’ve now got a job running my father-in-laws computer store in East Aurora, I make more per hour, but there is no 401k and since we only have 4 people there, the insurance blows, I used to pay $200 or so a month for both my wife and I, and a similar plan will cost us over $700, gonna have to figure something out.

The increases in health insurance over the past few years has been insane. The family plan for the company I’m at is a good $850/mo and its not even good coverage. Even though I am more conservative when it comes to politics and I don’t want a universal health care system I’m hoping the dems can do something to curtail this inflating mess.

As of summer last year, I lost all hope of a raise or promotion for 2009, no bonus, no more 401k matching, increased cost in health care, and HOPEFULLY a 3% pay cut.

I say hopefully, because the alternative is 100%. Those who get to keep their jobs lose a small percentage of their pay.

nada, got a raise. economy hasnt effected us at all

.

yeah i got a raise and a bonus and 3% profit sharing into my 401k. (not to sure what that is but whatever)

I am in for about a 5K a year raise and less hours. Will know for sure in a couple weeks.

not only is my company doing fairly well (thanks bailout!), my group is making an insane amount of profit. but alas, in the last year we’ve laid off about half the group. yesterday they announced no more 401k matching. we didn’t get raises. bonuses for only the top 5% (maybe less). they’ve already announced that next january will bring no raises or bonuses. they also cut and capped the severance packages. so less money and more work to go around, yay!
