Beautiful. I was looking at these for a while, I’ll have one eventually.

NICE!!! needs some sort of concave mesh wheels, maybe in gunmetal or black?
Working on getting a set of CCW Classics for it already.
Holy shit man, WOW. That’s one on my short-short-short list. Absolutely dope.
That red Viper on the CCWs…
I have always like the BBS wheels:
Yeah, yeah… I am late to the circle-jerk.
Nice choice man, always loved that color combination. Prepare for big price tags on your mods, haha.
Re: Manifolds: Yes, Gen-3 manifolds fit, but no, they do not flow much better. Gen-4 manifolds flow considerably better, but they will not work with any Gen-1/2/3 heads, and the earlier heads could not support what that manifold is capable of anyway. If you want big N/A power, check out our VS-X700 Gen-4 Conversion. It will work for a Gen-2 with a little extra work. I do caution you: everyone will try and sell you a heads/cam package. What they fail to mention, is that by the time you have heads, cam, rockers, pushrods, tune, headers, exhaust, throttle bodies, and 6 months of your life to get them done etc, etc… you are knocking on the door or surpassing the cost of a Gen-4 based conversion, and will not have nearly the drivability in the long run. Our VS-X700 put down ~620 to the wheels [710 Crank], on a camshaft so mild the car drives better than stock, and I shit you not on that one- the car is daily driven in NYC traffic. Head/Cam packages based on gen-2 components will need more aggressive profiles to come close to those numbers, not to mention the “no comparison” in the looks department.
you need to update your viper threads^^
Ive always wanted this exact car, very jealous.
Definitley approve this purchase!
I might just toss a blower or twins on it and go from there. While 600hp is cool 1000hp is cooler! I’ll have to talk to you or someone about setting up a game plan for this one. I don’t need easy drivability, I prefer a car that shakes and almost stalls out at lights its more fun that way lol. I also don’t want my car down for long yah know, so I’d probably do my own install unless there is something special in doing the gen 4 heads / intake swap. We’ll see what happens.
How do the forged dodge engines hold up under boost?
I absolutely love these, I wish they had some form of traction control. The annoyance of having to replace tires more often than usual would drive me crazy.
This is the gayest thing I have read yet on NYspeed. I want a 500whp sports car but god spinning the tires is soooo annoying.
On track, however, I will do horrible things to this car when I come down to visit. And get those CCW’s already, I don’t want to look like a hobo driving this thing around.
If you are looking for simple, reasonably big power, the answer is a Paxton Blower, Pully, Intercooler Upgrade, ATI Damper, Pinning Kit, Clutch, and Shafts… reliable 8-900 at the wheels built right on a mostly stock engine. Gen-4 conversions are for big N/A power, and BIG TT builds- otherwise for the baller looks. They are the best component sets available, but they are not needed for smaller H/C setups, blowers, or small TT kits… they are just overkill really.
As for your other comments;
-Shaky 488 V10’s are nothing like shaky small block V8’s. They are very finicky, and the torque and flywheel weights leads to a very harsh takeoff. I just do not recommend them as a whole, the V-10 does not like to run that way once you get beyond the breaking point of the JTEC ECU.
-The 96-99 Forged engines are quite stout. The stock block is good for a reliable 1000 horsepower at the flywheel. Keep in mind however that while TT’s are “free power”, blowers are not. a Blower car making 900 crank is definitely over 1000 total output.
^This guy knows his shit. I would personally do the Gen-4 conversion.
…if I had a Viper, that is.
Final GTS - Thanks for the advice! Looks like a Paxton at say 850whp would be pretty solid and reliable.
A friend a few years ago had a blown Viper similar to what you’re talking about here, if memory serves correctly he was right around 800rwhp. Rode/drove like stock…until WOT. That thing RIPPED, previous owner trapped 140. Unfortunately he never got it to the track as he ended up selling it to move onto a Ferrari, but man that car was a shit ton of fun.
love it.
White people problems.
Meh…ok if you like that sorta thing. I’m with Jam, a mostly rot-free Honda with half a million miles is waaaaaaay cooler. Especially if the cloth seats aren’t totally ripped to shreds.
Wait, no…this car looks AMAZING! Even with the dated wheels on it I’d love every single drive in it.
Awesome car. Love the lines on those GTS’s
