I would buy 20" not 21" so that would help at least a little bit.
I know the hole you are talking about-it’s brutal!! There were also some nasty ones in the turning lane to go into the McKinley mall that I think they filled-right on the white stripe separating the turning lane from the right lane on McKinley heading north.
As for the carbon holding up-it would have shattered IMHO. Carbon road bikes crack if involved in a bad enough crash, your car weighs what, 4000lbs and that hole is bad.

Doubt it I wasn’t aware of anyone making anything that high unleaded
So that was fun. I was concerned because my car would not pass NYS Inspection but it finally did. (O2 sensors were not ready.) I was running 100 on the 100 tune, maybe that had something to do with it.(?) I changed to 93 with the 93 tune and it still would not pass so I switched to stock tune and they finally reset or whatever you want to call it. Maybe it just took that long or maybe things needed to change, not sure. It all started when I got a CEL from running it out of 93 so I could run 100. The light came on when the car stalled out because of no fuel. Oh well, I am good for a year anyway. Whew!
