hung over. actually, still kind of drunk. either way, i had to move pianos. so i met my buddy josh, we load the piano up and head down to the delaware mansion.
so josh and i are bringing the piano up the front steps of the mansion when we see a guy dressed in chef’s clothing come running through the parking lot on the corner of virginia and delaware. he’s screaming into a phone, saying “theres been a shooting!” over and over
we stop what we were doing, leave the piano halfway up the stairs and continue watching from afar. at this point a few people ran out of the front door of merge, followed by a man slowly walking in a white shirt completely covered in blood. he just walked out of the building and stood on the sidewalk. im not sure if that was the shooter, the victim that didnt die, or just someone that tried to help an injured person. it was pretty crazy.
i give the buffalo police a lot of credit, they were there within a minute of the cook screaming and running through the parking lot on his phone. 2 arrived at the same time, and went in full force with guns drawn. there were a total of 8-10 cops at the most, ambulances, and a fire truck blocked off delaware.
after all of the cops and emts arrived it was pretty hard to see anything that was going on. plus we had more pianos to pick up. it was just so crazy for something like this to happen in the delaware / allentown area
mostly on topic: I recently watched an updated documentary on the columbine shootings and it said that the biggest/worst misconception about that situation was the idea that the shooters were outcasts and loners. Turns out they were normal kids to most people but both had some mental issues obviously and feed off each other.
It amazes me that people come to a point where they have nothing left to live for and they find resolution in taking others with them. Obviously some wired crossed in their heads.
