And you’re sick of both the Ds, the Rs and the lies, go Libertarian, the party of principle. It’s growing, and it’s the only party that serves young working adults. We may not win this time, but there is no reason to support a party that doesn’t represent your views, just because it has a better chance of winning.
Excerpt from article…
“America is no longer willing to waste its vote on the lesser of two evils. Both major parties have reneged on their promises to the voters and neither party reflects the values of most voters,” said Shane Cory, executive director of the Libertarian Party. “As a result, we are anticipating that a record amount of Americans will decide to vote on principle this year, as opposed to voting for the lesser of two evils.”
I tend to agree with what Carlin says. Basically Big business is running the show and it really doen’t matter which “party” is elected. Hell, even if an official is elected with principles it wouldn’t be long before they ended up with a bullit in 'em, their plane goes down, or their driver wrecks.
Imagine - great concept, bad for business.
Let’s also not forget diebold voting machines are use to decide the outcome
The opposite of a Libertarian, in some sense, would be people who are in favor of large invasive governments which control all aspects of life and expect no individualism. Then that means you’re a communist?
Also, Diebold is “big business”…I wonder whose party the software/hardware programmers were paid off to slant for?
I didn’t say i agree WITH it, that’s just the way it is. I guess the vote could be swayed in favor of any outcome they wanted. whether it’s to go to war, raise taxes to build money to pay for defense and/or to help with humanitarian efforts.
Just stating a point of view. (No accusations thrown on my part!)
I imagine they could convince Diebold to put in hooks to have the outcome a certain way and rig just about anything and make it look like it was done fairly. Who the heck knows. I’d like to have a real, honest third party assessment of the votes without tainting and some way to verify each person’s vote.
Alternatively, with the internet we’re almost at a point technologically where we don’t need a Representative Republic any more. We could have a true Democracy with the internet being so abundantly available. Log on biometrically and cast your vote. This could lead to no more “lifer politicians”. No more cushy job while sucking off the teat of the American people’s hard earned income.
(^^^ this is one possible outcome…I’m not saying I like it, either. It definitely has its drawbacks too.)
Have you seen the documentry on hbo called hacking democracy ?
I don’t see what’s wrong with just having a paper ballot. Oh yeah it’s slower and there would be a record of actual votes. Well no need to safeguard the decision of who will be the leader of the free world.
And yes it does seem to resemble communism but on a much larger scale.
