I took these pics from my dock, my boat was fine except for the zipper on my mainsail cover tore, but that was it. 3 boats were capsized, could have been worse, I’m sure a lot of these boats have damage.

I know my friend’s boat down at Buffalo Yacht Club snapped a couple of lines and banged up his boat pretty good.
I heard they had a mess down there. Glad my boat was safely tucked away in my garage. Trailering FTW.
Trailering sucks if you have a sailboat, I did it last year, too big a PITA.

Ike made landfall in TX @ like 2 am sat morning. ~24 hrs later he hit B-lo.
Yeah, pretty much exactly 48hrs later, I remember being woken up by the wind at 2am Monday morning. I wasn’t too worried about my boat as I had it secured tightly, and it’s in a pretty protected spot…or so I thought.
lol all my patio furniture was all over the lawn, and the grill was flipped over
all night i was outside trying to gather all my shit, there was 2 ladders up on the side of the house because i was staining it, the wind took them both right down. lawn furniture was all over, shit was blown into the pool, trees down. it was nuts.
Bummer…but from the looks of it those dock sections were in need of an overhaul, so maybe this will be a good thing in the end.
They’ve been planning on it…for 4 years now! They were waiting to dump it off on the state I think, after it becomes a state park I mean.
