with the perfect conditions (good track, good air), professional driver, and no regard for the tranny to launch AWD it is probably possible to hit 12’s.
didn’t bj run a 13.3 at the begining of the season with 600 pounds of mobile entertainment in the trunk
an STi will run a 12 as often as a stock LS1 will, or a stock Z06 hitting 11’s. It’s possible, but not always probable
or like you running an 11
sorry had to say it!
bj ran 13.1 but he hardly has 600 lbs of equipment, i figured it was close to 200.
i guess you missed my sarcasm
yo ed whats up ??? school is starting up soon !!! im gonna try n get those T shirts going who knows about any future meetings planned !! But if u wanna meet up sometime send mea private message. If u wanna race PM me again and well find a place if u think your low 12’s thats where i am so at least u can guage how fast / slow ur car is btw im hopeing we can rent out the track when school starts up again !!! if not well definately rent it out for next season !!!
my clutch owns me you can hear it slipping in the video.
I’m thinking a firewall adjustor may be the quick fix it. But I know I’m gonna need a new clutch
But it does suck to have a car that should run at least a half a second quicker than it is, and its something minor like a clutch holding ya back… oh wait you do know what thats like, right mr.13.4
ricer excuse :stick: :crying: :greddy2:
auto > stick :idb:
blah blah
I’d get bored with an auto.
But lets pull out some automatic excuses we hear.
“my tranny is slipping”
“I don’t think I have third gear” wah wah :crying: :blue:
“I never thought id lose to a car with 50-60hp less than me that was a manual on a highway run”
just havin fun with ya mike
dam selenoids !! :sadwavey:
thats what they all say
you can do a mod on the Maxima that will make the tranny shift so hard it will rip 2nd and chirp 3rd (or, uh, so ive heard…:embarassd). All you have to do is wire in a resistor…
put drag skinnies on the front?
The drop resistor mod disconnects the dropping resistor in the transmission control circuit. This forces the transmission to run a maximum line pressure. This makes the shifts VERY hard.
does it engage the gear faster than normal? I assume this mod is hard on the tranny, but could be de-modded for warranty repairs?
actually… firmer the shift the easier it is on the tranny, due to less friction needed for the smoother shift
although its always good to go with a tranny cooler when doing any type of shift kit, or shift firmness adjustment, due to the rapid gear changes
shifts as if you just powershifted in a manual. Blue is right, it IS easier on the tranny, per se. Its easier on the tranny, but it generates a LOT more heat, so a tranny cooler is a must. Its also much too jerky for everyday driving, so most either run a WOT trigger or a regular 12v switch.
Supposed to make a nice improvement in the 1/4 mile.
Those auto’s may get in the 12’s with less mods than a stick but stick being more fun will always be > auto.
Auto’s are for girls anyhow. They present no challenge to the driver. You program the PCM to do all your shifting and all you gotta do is step on the gas. no fun. :stick:
idk…brian and sam both told me to take off the hypertech shift firmness b/c it will blow up my tranny…adn yes i do have a tranny cooler…soo…idk…i think thats what might have helped my tranny go quicker…but idk…
