Nice, definitely one of the better looking years for this car… imo

The drive from NJ was wet and uneventful. I like the extra ‘stuff’ it has. The radio in the STI was about as good as what you could put together for $4.99 on eBay. The Evo X w/ the SSS pkg. has the RF system which (to my surprise) is VERY good. Plus it has a lot of other realllllly cool stuff I like. Oh yeah…the 4B11 is probably the best 4 cyl turbo powerplant on the road right nwo too. So that makes me :slight_smile:

In the end the old addage ‘money can’t buy happiness’ won out. I’ve always been an Evo guy. I thought I’d like the STI for a lot of reasons. Really those reasons never turned to a reality unfortunately. The drive home in the X was the best I’ve felt behind the wheel of one of my cars in a long time!

i hear ya. i didnt like the X when it first came out, but it grows like any other car. phatom black is good looking color. my buddy dustin out west has a 600whp VIII and a bolt on X daily driver… the 4B11 feels alot less peaky than the 4G did

Yeah the motor is VERY well engineered-I’m glad they didn’t put it in the IX like they originally planned and took the time to sort everything out. The new hybrid turbocharger and amazingly effecient factory o2 housing and downpipe make a world of difference also. Only car I know of that doesn’t really ‘gain’ power by going to a full turboback (catted) vs the factory setup. Only ‘major’ restriction seems to be the stock muffler (and cats of course).
