In need of a 12v electric controlled hydrolic valve....

Here is the valve on my truck for the dump bed. I would really like to replace this with a valve that will work off a 12v switch so I can raise and lower the bed form the cab.

Any valve suggestions?

Currently there is a long rod that goes back under the wheel well and you pull it to raise the bed, push it forward to lower the bed. It works great but i’d like to just be able to turn it on and dump from the cab without ever stepping out.

This picture you can see the entire thing, with the rod to raise/lower the bed. You can see there is 1 hose that goes to the tank with the hydraulic fluid, one hose that goes to the bottom of the ram and one hose goes to the top of the ram.

How hard is the lever to move. I’m sure there is a 12v option, but if not you could most likely use a linear actuator to move the arm…

Very easy to move. But I don’t want to put a linear actuator there because it’ll see winter

Something like this?

You’ll need a sub-plate too, looks to be about $35

maybe? not sure about that

Welcome to the greatest website ever:

^ Those are 120VAC valves, but otherwise exactly what he needs

Just make sure that when you remove the manual valve for the solenoid you dont inadvertenly remove the drainback restrictor. It’ll absolutely scare the shit out of you first time you drop the bed back down without one in place.

You can ask me how i know but i think its self explanatory :lol

where’s the fluid return?

looks like the metal hard line coming from the tank is pressure coming in to the valve and the valve just sends it to one side of the cylinder or the other… wheres the returning fluid go?

He could put an inverter in if he wanted to use one of those easy enough

Might be a bleedback setup Wayne, separate motor switch and hydraulic valve. Have a similar setup on a single acting truck crane here. Flip lever forward to close the valve and push it farther to activate the pump(goes up), pull the lever back and it stops the pump, pull it back farther and it open the valve and bleeds fluid from the ram back to the reservoir(via the actual weight pushing down on the ram)

If that’s the case than he’s going to need either a two way switch for the pump and valve(one way controls both, other way just controls the valve) or a proper electric two way valve.

And don’t forget the restrictor, unless you want that body slamming down on the chassis in under a second

I think I should just have you take a look at it adam

Can do but what’s your timeframe here. I’ve got alot on the books.

No time frame, don’t care when
