In Need of Steelies for the Winter

Looking for a 5x112 bolt pattern and the minimum size of 16" (anything smaller will not fit our the caliper’s)

this for a 2006 VW GLI

I already checked with Sailor and he has only been able to locate 15"

Checked on tirerack.com and the cheapest I have found a set of 4 is $500 with balance and mounting.

Anyone have any ideas where I can get a set for cheaper??

any input appreciated!
thanks!!

www.car-part.com

car-part.com did me no good :frowning:

tirerack is a sure fire bet!

why dont you just use your regular wheels?

Check Audizine.com, Audiworld.com, vwvortex, passatworld.com.
Theres always people selling stock parts on there cheap.
Looks like $95/steelie from the stealership. You may be able to get a used set of real deal wheels for less than that.

18s in the winter with performance tires… not really fun

didnt know they were 18’s

You could also do 15’s with spacers to clear the calipers…

rob a pepboys!?!?!?

i have a set of baller 16" a6 wheels… not that i really want to sell them… but could if you get in a pinch… i’d take $499.98

5x100 != 5x112

5X100 no good

wasn’t sure if somebody could be wrong:dunno:
just thought it might have been a lead
why would VW use different size wheels on everything?

but then again it is VW

i would guess different drive train setups between the longitudal and transverse mounted motors… but this is an 06 and is probably transversely mounted so :dunno:

check out www.aaarims.com They have all kind of factory and aftermarket wheels. I just picked up a set of 6 lug wheels for a 1 ton Dodge work van at my office.

Good prices too.

there is no logic behind it! not sure why they can’t just leave it 5x100
